I can't keep any solids down either. If I eat anything it comes back. I'm drinking lots of Unjury strawberry sorbet and and isopure; and it takes me all day to get it in. I can handle broth too. I understand how you are feeling & hope it gets better for you soon

  7. I know it's crazy! When they called me to ask more questions they actually said "when was your last bad migraine?" Ummm RIGHT NOW lol.
  8. I can't wait either! I was hoping for 199 by 1/1/13....i still have 7 pounds to go but I'm not complaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job to everyone!!!!
  9. I have United Health Care and I was told in April/May that I was covered for the lap band or the sleeve. The sleeve is what I wanted so I started my 6 month supervised diet that UHC required and got all the medical clearances for surgery that my surgeon required along with the NUT visit, the psy eval etc. I was finished up with everything in October and UHC promptly denied me....I couldn't believe it! I have pseudotumor cerebri and have basically had a constant migraine for about 10 years. The insurance company said that wasn't a co-morbidity. My surgeon had to call the insurance company and have the decision reversed.
  10. Originally from La Mesa, CA but I'm a Floridian now!
  11. I don't think I'm going to make my goal by Tuesday; but maybe by the following Tuesday Current weight 206 unless someone has a secret to losing 7 pounds REALLY quickly LOL (ok, I'm kidding...sorta,,,,)
  12. I agree with Decembersleever; you have your hands full! We've all looked at ourselves (pre-op) for our entire lives; it's going to take some time to get used to seeing LESS of us in the mirror. People tell me my face looks "so much thinner" and I still see the same ol me when I look in the mirrior. I think we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to look a certain way in a certain time. I'll bet you have lost tons of inches! And what do you mean you can't wait to start working out? I'll bet those kids have you hopping! You are doing great! Keep us updated! As a military brat; my hat is off to your husband and all those men and women keeping us safe!
  13. That's awesome!!!! My office has been eating junk food all Dec (i was sleeved on the 10th) and It's great not to even WANT to dive mouth first into all the candy, cookies, fudge, cheesecakes etc that have been delivered. I probably gained 5lbs each Dec just from that stuff....not this year! Thanks SLEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I gotta tell you; my new favorite past time is watching people eat (like I used to) and then waiting for the food coma to hit them. I don't want to sound mean about it; but it is very interesting how you just see food totally different now. I'll bet you saved some SERIOUS cash not having to buy food for yourself at Disney; home of the $10 order of fries LOL! Congrats on your 45lb lost
  15. I agree 100%,I actually order some Pilates dvds this morning from amazon. They are do in next week, so I am eagerly waiting for their arrival. And I;m just going to have to break out some tie each day as "Mommy Time" it'd pilates for beginners so hopefully I won't kill myself LOL trying it out nest week!!
  16. oh thank you for the info; I'm always worried about THAT patient that drivers the surgeon crazy being me
  17. I'm 17 days post-op and I can't tolerate anything remotely solid. And it's weird because I'm not hungry; I'd just like to stop drinking everything. I did finally get some popsicles yesterday and that was wonderful I was just wondering if anyone else has had or is having the same issue? No soft/mushy phase for me yet. Any thoughts and/or suggestions are welcome! Thanks!!
  18. I think it's great that you started these sites. I love my surgeon but I found answers to things I never would have even thought about asking. I was fully prepared for my surgery, i had made a few new friends, I had trolled around and gotten read a lot of topics that I actually had questions about. I'm on this site all the time and I hope that I am able to offer others the same support and education that I received. Your surgeon can give you the technical explanations but all of these members who have been there; they can give you that REAL emotional explanation that only someone like us can understand. It really is like having a giant extended family available to talk to you at any moment on any given day. We all come from different backgrounds and cultures but we all that common link that pulls you together.
  19. I haven't started exercising EXERCISING yet (i just bought 2 pilates dvds from Amazon this morning). I have been parking further out when I go to stores or work etc. I've also tried to speed up my pace. The dvd's are due in on the 2nd--I figure New Year; New ME!
  20. I was sleeved on 12/10 and FINALLY went on Christmas Eve; best Christmas present EVER lol
  21. I'm late joining the challenge but I've had a goal of 199 by 1/1/13 so.... Heavy/Start Weight - 244 Surgery Weight - 232 Weight today - 208 New Year's Goal - 199
  22. hey there partofme! i'm 16 days post-op; I had a little (maybe 1/8 cup) of broc/cheese Soup (that I blended in my new XMAS blender LOL). About an hour and a half later I had about a 4th of a bottle of Isopure Grape Frost. So hearing that next year I'll be able to have a few bites of actual dinner makes me happy I think it's really great that all of you are so aware of not only what you are eating, but are able to stop when that full feeling hits. Starting with the Protein is great too because i know in the past if there was rice/pasta/potatoes on the table they were my MAIN focus! Happy New Year to Everyone!!
  23. Do not stress out over it. It was one day. If you let yourself feel guilty that one day will just continue to bother you until it's 2 days and so on. You will be fine! Just relax & Happy Holidays!
  24. How exciting that you are going to have a baby! I have two friends who have been trying for years. I think if you follow what ALL of your drs say to the letter; you will be fine. And try not to stress about weight gain at this point; the important thingi s the health ofy ourself and your baby. Merry Christmas to you and let us know how you are doing
