  1. My grandmother passed away 2 days before my birthday and I realized that if I looked back on my life when I was 90, I wouldn't want to think, "if only I did something about my weight instead of letting it hold me back." I couldn't fit in movie theater seats. I am always sweating at work. I always feel like people are looking at how fat I am. Most of it is in my head and it took me a few years to work on those demons. Now I am finally ready to work on my life as a whole and improve my future physically and mentally.
  2. I can't wait to finally be happy with my body. I'm sure i won't look perfect but getting to a 16-18 from a 24-26 is perfect for me.
  3. I had a couple of classes, blood work, and a sleep study. If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? My surgeon said they don't require a lot of tests for younger patients
  4. Oh okay. The acid reflux is killer. My favorite is tomatoe soup and it kills my stomach but tastes delicious, lol
  5. I find that my dad is always, "Have you eaten enough? Have you taken your vitamins?"
  6. I have an almost Splenda like taste in my mouth as well. It gets pretty annoying really fast. Will the taste go away when I stop loosing? Or when will it go away?
  7. It's what I am truly dreading when I go back to work. Many people at my job know that I was sleeved. And I feel as though big brother will be watching.
  8. I'm almost 2 weeks out so I know how you're feeling. I feel as though I'm getting "hungry" lol I wouldn't reccomend starches as a starter food. Try cottage cheese, an egg, or some thinly sliced deli meat. I'm looking forward to the eggs as soon as my surgeon Okays it on Tuesday.
  9. If you're having a reaction to the surgical tape and OTC cream isn't working, visit your primary care doctor. They can prescribe you something for that. Happened to me too! And now I have scabs from all the scratching
  10. You probably have denser bones and are more muscular than others. I was told that if I worked out a lot, I could end up a super buff size 4 at 175 pounds and I'm 5'4. Muscle does weigh more than fat.
  11. Mine was 7 months out. If it hadn't been for me finding out I had sleep apnea at 4 months in, i would have been sleeved at 4 months. It really depends on your appointments. Start the program, push for classes ASAP
  12. Yeah, just ask if they have experience with overeating or Bariatric patients. It's a pretty common issue that a lot of us face so I'm sure you can find someone
  13. Speak with your psychologist that you had to see to get your date. Many of them have seen these problems before as they have to evaluate us all.
  14. From what I've read your body eventually settles at a weight. May be past your goal but yeah. I wouldn't reccomend slider foods and high calorie foods just because you don't want to get back into bad habits and end up gaining a whole lot more weight.
  15. Hey! I had mine there too! Just know that you're in good hands : )
  16. I was crying when they wheeled me into the operating room. I was so scared. And I made sure my surgeon knew. But I was also very excited. I'm 9 days out and it's been an interesting journey so far. Proves to me that i can do anything that I put my mind to.
  17. My significant others is 25, his mom is 50 and her bf is 24. If it makes you happy, go for it
  18. B12 you can take in drops sublingually.
  19. You could try the same stuff pregnant women use on their belly. You can fade them a bit but they'll never go away completely as they are a type of scar. : ) I think of mine as battle scars
  20. That's the kind my parents have lol I just don't want to throw a number out there and then Find out its not true.
  21. I am getting lightheaded when standing but I have a feeling that's due to my low intake
