There is one that says No Sugar Added. It's not sugar free but has less than half the sugar the normal apple juice has. in fact, on my doctors paper work it specifically said get "No Sugar Added".

Hello,
My Name is Don and I was sleeved by Dr. Jay on Nov. 6th. So far everything has gone as planned except a couple stalls. I have lost 53 lbs. so far but I have been stalled for half the time since I have had the sleeve. I am also a Lap Band Revision. I was Banded in 2003 and lost the band in 2005. It took me 5 years to figure out a way to get the sleeve but I got here. Better late than never I say Lets hear your experiences.

Thanks PJ!! I am hopeful but I'm still in that worried phase where I don't want to fail again. How are you doing now? Give us an update.
I was banded in 2003 and had the band for 4 years when I lost it to erosion. I lost 140 lbs. with my band the first year. I lost an additional 30 lbs. the second year but still needed to lose another 80 lbs. instead I started gettin reflux real bad and after adjustments to the band I gained back 70 lbs. by time I lost it. I had self paid and didn't have the money for the sleeve And insurance didn't cover it so it took me 5 years to get the sleeve. My insurance finally got on board and covered it. I am 6 weeks out now (sleeve surgery was Nov. 6th) and I have lost 49 lbs. already and I can eat where I couldn't with the band.
Congrats on your surgery and everyone else in here that had a revision.

Yep, I am indeed a revision. Of course I lost the band 5 years ago from erosion but I do indeed know the issues with the Lap Band. Glad I finally got the sleeve! Congrats on your revision.

The only Protein Powder I found that I could stomach (pardon the pun) was Cinnamon Roll by Pep-Tide.

I just found this page and am thrilled to have found it. I am doing my preop as of yesterday and it has gone pretty smooth--not bad at all. I have been pretty hard on myself the last 2 months in order to lose the weight I needed to be able to have surgery before years end. Made my goal that my insurance required as of November 26th and my surgeon set my date.
I am having my surgery @ Cendar Park Regional in Austin. They have a great staff and bariactric staff there---it has made this the best decision of my life.
I will post more after I am back home after my surgeryl.
Congrats on your surgery date!

I'm one of the people that had the band first. Mine eroded and I almost dies from infection cause being a guy I had other things to do instead of going to see my doc. I had an erosion 5 years ago last week. It left me with a stricture to where I was very limited as to what I could eat for a few years, in fact even right before I got my sleeve 5 weeks ago I still could not eat chicken. I was gaining all the weight back that I had lost with the band and was very not happy! The sleeve so far has been great. Compared to the band, the sleeve doesn't hurt at all. I say the main reason I lost so much with the band was because it hurt to eat so I would just not eat. Now I actually get full with the sleeve And I am still on soft foods. If the sleeve had been an option 9 years ago when I got the band, and knowing what I know now... Never would have considered the band!!

Wow...I actually had FUN shopping for a few clothes with my boyfriend this week! I'm down 2 sizes and my clothes were hanging' date=' or, in many cases, FALLING off me. Actually am starting to be able to see my shape again...yay! Started my pre-op healthy diet in June at my HW of 333 (I'm 5'9"). The day of surgery (Nov 1), I was 290. Today, I'm 268. Happy, happy girl![/quote']I'm betting your boyfriend is very happy to see your clothes FALLING off of you

My consult was the 6th' date=' I start pre op diet the 13th and have surgery the 27th. Everything is going fast and Im trying to finish up this semester of teaching and going to school and haven't had any time yet to research this. I'm starting to worry I won't find a Protein I like before starting pre op. My dr recommends Bariatric Advantage but I'll have to order it and i dont know if it will get here in time OR if i'll like it!? I would like to find something I can purchase fairly local and that is affordable. Any and all suggestions on Protein powders and BARS would be great- especially if they can be purchased at Walmart or Target. Thanks[/quote']You can buy Bariatric Advantage at Daugherty's Pharmacy. I do agree though that it sucks. I only tried a couple of them but it had like a lead after taste.... My opinion!

When I got to that stage I still thinned stuff down and it worked. When I finally tried fish last week and its getting easier. Sounds like you are still swollen.

Hello, I was sleeved on Nov. 6th. I lost 14 lbs pre-op and have lost 30 lbs. since surgery. I lost 23 lbs. my first week and the rest a pound every few days. I am not counting calories but I am walking a few nights a week. I plan to start walking every night but so far have not stuck to that plan

Wow, 4 months for 105 lbs. that's awesome !! Congrats !!

Hey Star I agree with O.T.R. But what I wanted to suggest is that if he did have issues with your loose skin you could always call on one of us sleeved guys that would totally understand and be very happy to get it

I spent a couple hundred dollars looking for a Protein drink I could ( excuse the pun ) stomach. I bought all sorts of stuff cause people said it was good. So, everyone is different when it comes to taste buds but the one I was finally able to deal with is actually good for a Protein Drink.
I went with Cinnamon Roll by Pep-Tide. I mix it with skim milk. The Protein powder is 18 grams of Protein per scoop and the milk has 9 grams of protein for 8 ounces so that's 27 grams of protein in one glass. It also cost less than alot of them. It was only $32 for the big jug. Hope this helps and good luck!

Oh, just wanted to say good ideal not to weigh just yet. I weighed more when I got out of the hospital from all the IV fluids they pumped in me while I was there. I weighed 7 lbs more after surgery then before.... I lost that in the first week along with 16 more lbs. I was down 23 lbs from surgery till my 1 week follow up visit to the Doc's office.

Congrats! I am only 25 days out and life is almost back to normal. It gets ALOT better as soon as the pain goes away which for me was probably by day 4. Once you get to the soft food diet (2 days ago for me) life feels like normal again. I am down 42 lbs. so far. Good luck!

I think you are very pretty and I think your BF is very insecure. I don't see either of those changing. Probably time to get someone in your life that is supportive!
