    Weight lifting and swimming

I just emailed this question to my doc but I thought I'd see what you guys think. I am 4weeks post op and want to start lifting weights (less then 15lbs). I wonder if its too soon, what's everyone's time frame been for weights? Also I want to begin swimming for exercise, did anyone's dr advise them on when they can begin swimming post op? Thanks

Just wondering what my fellow sleeves are doing for exercise at this point? I'm walking 30mins a day. I wanted to start doing some weight lifting but was told to wait until 2months out by my dr. Kinda getting bored with walking

    Cleaning Incisions

I sprayed it with antiseptic spray and put a little neosporin on it daily. Had to keep it covered in the shower for the first 10days
  5. I say take it. I took a small pillow with me and am glad I did. I used it in the hospital and after when traveling

    Florance vs Mi hospital

I may be the minority but I did not like midoctor at all. If there's one thing I could change about my surgery it would be going to that hospital. I posted my experience and opinion about the hospital if you want to search for it on my profile

    8 Days out and....

Are you allowed milk and protein shakes? Those made me feel like I had some substance during my liquid phase. And at about that time I was able to take normal sized drinks

    At Mi Hospital!

When I had surgery they told me it would be at 3pm but didn't go back until 5:30, knowing a time isn't necessarily good cause its not likely to be on time glad to hear you are connecting with other patients, that's what made my hospital stay easy. Keep us posted!

    Please Keep Us Posted

I'm 3 week out today and down 20lbs. I started with a low BMi and am happy with this loss. The first two days after surgery were the hardest but it has been better since. I stopped taking any pain meds once I got home from MX, haven't needed them. I have no problem getting all my water in, I don't have to sip anymore I can take regular drinks now. Isopure unflavored has been my saving grace for getting my protein. I am walking up to 30mins everyday. I haven't noticed anymore hair loss then normal but my skin is so clear and my nails are stronger then normal. Getting off all that junk food has been good for my body I am going back to work next week and feel ready for it. I started puree this week,a hard boiled egg went down fine, but refried beans were too dense for me. It's all a learning process I find that my head does still occasionally want some junk food but my body isn't hungry and is satisfied and sustained on this diet. I haven't felt weak at all. My biggest struggle thus far is getting my head and stomach in sync. My head wants food but my stomach doesn't and up until this point my head has been stronger then my stomach, time for them to work together lol My advice to any going through this surgery, push through and persevere, the moments when you regret it, feel pain or struggle keep moving forward it will get better and on the other side is nothing but good health! When I was at the hospital feeling miserable someone told me to "just keep truckin" best advice I could've gotten

Oh yeah, I'm missing food. I dream about food almost every night. I'd sure love a slice of pizza, but I just keep telling myself this post op diet isn't forever I will be able to enjoy food again, but now instead of eating half a pizza ill be satisfied with a slice or less when are you cleared to start regular foods? I have one more week to go and I can start introducing soft foods Btw I like your username jkfletch
  15. Lol yeah I for sure thought soft cheese was ok, then double checked and saw I was wrong. Oopsie lol
  16. I am 18 days (almost 3 weeks) post op and have been eating half a. Babybell cheese in a meal and have been tolerating it fine. I looked at my doctors diet schedule and it says I shouldn't have soft cheese until 4. Weeks post op. oops My question is, has anyone been cleared to eat babybell cheese sooner? Since I'm fine eating it should i continue? Or wait like my drs diet says?
  17. Whew! Ok thanks for the replies. I'm going to email my dr to be double sure, but I figure if its not bothering me then it should be alright
  18. I sure wish I'd had this in my room at MiDoctor. I looked for it but there wasn't one. Would be a very good idea to print this up and take it with you!
  19. Have you tried various protein powders mixed with water? Or unflavored protein powder in your soups? I recommend isopure unflavored

Ugh omg I was sleeved the 11th and I crave pizza so bad! I dream about it almost every night. But pizza was always my #1 weakness and go to comfort food. I figure since the stress of adapting to the sleeve triggers the mental need to comfort myself with food and being that pizza was my go to its what I crave the most. It's definitely the food I look forward to the most to eat again, but also the food I will have to learn to control myself around
