  1. No I'm sorry if I explained it wrong. When I had the last EDG withthe new specialist when I woke and she spoke with us she told us both at the same time that there were absolutely no signs of any type of gastric surgery. I asked her to clarify and she said all of my stomach was just as it should be prior to any surgeries. No sign of revision

  2. Yes I had a revision and I never felt like it seemed to restrict me much but dr said over and over again I'm probably not following the nutritional advice and needed to continue with his nutritionist. Which I continued and followed all the restrictions. No soda, no NSAIDs, high Protein low carb, protein smoothies, walked daily and even joined an exercise group at school on my lunch hour etc...I'd always feel bad that I didn't feel like I was successful but even his nurse told me that when you're revised not to expect the same results she too had been revised.

  3. Curious has this ever happened to anyone else and if so where do I begin?

In 2013 I was in hospital in my home town Houston for three days recovering from gastric sleeve surgery or so I thought. I had lap band in 2010 and was sick often from it even though I followed all the rules and life changes. Than in 2013 I had a revision to gastric sleeve which I was told went very well just go home follow the new changes which were pretty much the same as before and see nutritionist at dr office frequently to stay on task. i did it all!

When I'd go in for a check up I was always told I was trying hard enough because I should be losing more weight. Id only lost 50-60 lbs total. Then went in again for an EDG after having a continuous upset stomach. After that procedure he told me I had hpylori and to take this medications. Another year passes and I'm still stuck at the same weight give or take a few pounds and I've moved to California from Texas. Began having the same symptoms as I did with hpylori but also had somehow lost another 26 lbs after moving to Cali. I attribute this to the sunshine. When my stomach pain would not go away after months I decided I'd go to another gastroenterologist and internal medicine specialist here in Loma Linda California. She ran all the usual tests and an EDG which found that I have a lot of burning type ulcers but here's the kicker SHE SAID WHEN I WOKE UP AND MY HUSBAND HEARD HER THAT THERE WERE ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNS THAT ID EVER HAD GASTRIC SLEEVE SURGERY AND THAT ALL MY PARTS WERE ALL THERE NORMAL AS TEHY SHOULD BE PRIOR TO A SURGERY!!!! What do I do?

  4. Quote Have you tried the 5 day pouch test? www.5daypouchtest.com I am beginning the 5day pouch test today and its only 5 pm and I have a headache and dying to munch on something. I started the test because I've been stalled for two months! Sleeved on nov 20th 2012 and I've only lost 60 lbs. any suggestions to get me through the test?

  5. Hi fellow Nov sleeves!!!

  7. Hi Everyone! Gosh I feel like a surgery failure!! I'm only down 47 lbs since my surgery on 11/15 and I have followed EVERYTHING to the letter. Not one deviation' date=' not one miss on anything. It's so frustrating. I've been consistently losing, but it's a pound this week, half a pound another week etc... I'm so frustrated with it all to be honest! I see everyone losing massive amounts of weight and here I am plugging along I don't feel like I'm ever going to make goal. All doc says is yeah, it's slow but thats ok... UM no, it's not ok.. I lost faster with Medifast 2 years ago! By the 4 month mark I was down over 55 lbs!

Oh well, I guess better down then up right?

Does anyone else notice that the way they are losing is weird? I have lost all the inches/weight in my legs, butt and upper body, but my waist is still not losing as fast so it makes buying/wearing pants a challenge. this has never happened to me before, I've always lost equally. SO, while I can get into a size 12 petite slacks/jeans, they fit great everywhere, but are snug in the waist. If I wear the 14s I look like I'm in clown pants they are soooo huge on me, but the waist though loose still is managable. It's crazy. Never had this happen before. A friend of mine who had the surgery (and is now a size 4 grr... LOL but she was only 140 when she had the revision so I can't compare) said her friends are having the same thing happening with their losses. Weird! LOL[/quote']

I Understand how you feel. My surgery was November 20 I'm only down 57 pounds and I feel like I've done every single thing right. I can get into 1416 pants but just like you it's tight in my waist for My stomach is not going down as fast as my butt and my hips and my thighs and legs my neck and upper area is good also feels pretty defeating. I guess we just keep plugging away my doctor told me that if you have the lap asleep revision it's slower than a person that house just the revision

  8. Yes I love the Gladiator and I drink mine also over a few hours in the day. This keeps me going all day till dinner.

Sent from my iPhone using VST

Exactly! It helped me break my stall I see results everyday. And no I don't get the skinny but it does not have turbinado in it, just 3 scoops of Protein, Water, Ice and whichever two fruits I choose in a medium or large depending on how long my day is at work. I also went inside and spent 40 on a big jar of gladiator Protein so I could make my own when I'm at home on weekends and don't want to go out. Good luck everybody! Happy valentines day :)

  9. I had to go in to smoothie king and they had papers up on their walls with fruit info. Next time ill take a pic with my phone and get it to everyone. Plus since I'm drinking it all day it's not like I'm shoving all the Protein in at once. I set my alarm on phone for every two hrs and drink the Water. A man at work who was really large and had the surgery in July has lost over 100 and I'm following his plan

Yes he does still. I'm telling you that if you do thAt you are stuffed by evening and then we both are just walkers at work long long hallways and lots of stairs. We walk every hr for five minutes super fast stairs and all to keep our metabolism up.

  10. If you go to smoothie king they'll tell you the exact calories of each fruit. pineapple is low alto for me I work at a desk all day and I get a big one and suck on it all day with Water bottles in between and by the end of my day I've got it all on. I go home at 5 have a very small meal and they'd it. I've been finally losing approx a pound a day lately

  11. I have no way of finding out how many cals/carbs are in the fruits though?? Ive searched everywhere

  12. Just tried it. Not too bad!

You need to check Smoothie King website. 20 oz is 180 calories with the 2 scoops of Protein. The protein is 45 grams for the 2scoops. The 40 oz is 390 calories with 2 scoops of protein. I bought the protein and it is 190 for 2 scoops of protein alone 45 grams. I put in an extra scoop so I get 70 grams and that is 285 in calories for the three scoops of protein, then you add your fruit which is not to high depending on fruit you choose. If this is a Meal Replacement that is awesome.

  13. Yeah- I bought a size 12 dress that fit last weekend- there is no way in hell I could fit into a real 12!! I'm 4'11 and 195! My 16w jeans are getting too big- so I 'might' be in a 14?

Just had to share.Find a smoothie king nearest you and purchase the Gladiator Protein Powder it has 45 gms Protein two scoops only 190 calories. You can make a seriously fruity smoothie with 70 grams if you use 3 scoops and just berries and pineapple total calories 340. All protein in for the day and your stuffed in one Meal Replacement. I usually sip on one all day and a little exercise drink my Water and I'm good.

  14. I see a lot of ppl are talking about Protein. To be honest I have not really paid much attention to my protein intake or my Vitamins and I know that is horrible but at the same time I'm wonder is I start this will it slow up my weight lose. Ppl on here have lost 30-40lb and I have lost 108.2lbs since my day of surgery November 7th. What do you all think.

Are you exercising a lot? What was your starting weight? Do. You just eat whatever you want whenever and that's working for you? Ill try that if you answer yes. I'm so over paying so close attention and moving so slow. You may have the right idea. How much do you eat in one sitting?

  15. Thanks! It's good to know that I am not alone!

I feel very slow on this journey. I ride a bike for 20 minutes, climb stairs as I walk around the school building that I work at, there are many staircases and I try to run each of them two stories. I have my phone alarm set to every two hrs and when it rings I eat some Protein or drink a Protein Shake, between the two hrs I drink a full bottle of Water. I pee all day long! I'm sure I get at least 70 + protein and probably 30-50 gms carbs on some days but other days no carbs at all. I began at 277 and I'm at 245 today. Very frustrated because I walk the circle and stairs a few times a day to keep my metabolism burning. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've dropped two pant sizes so why isn't my weight dropping more. My dr said I should lose 80 lbs in 6 months! I was sleeved on 11/20 so at this rate I'm not going to live up to his expectations. Any ideas what to change?

  16. Sleeved 11/13

    Start weight: 248

    Current weight: 198

I've gone from a tight size 20 to a 14- and even bought a 12 in a dress today! Super excited!

I'm puzzled how does anyone get 90 g of Protein down and yet stay under 600 cal every time I put a scoop of protein into something and each scoop has about 100 to 180 cal is there someone using a different protein that maybe would help me? I've been using Atkins everything and sick of it?

  17. Hi fellow November sleevers! It's awesome to share such a wonderful bond with each one of you. It sounds like everyone is doing great and working really hard' date=' congratulations! As for me, I couldn't be happier. I started my journey at 296 pounds on the date of my pre-op diet, November 4th. Date of surgery was November 19th. Since november 4th, I have lost 71 pounds! I am currently at 225 pounds, the first time I've weighed this in a long time. With a goal weight of 150, I still have a lot of work to go. I've been doing spinning classes at a local gym and have been LOVING THEM. Basically, life is good :)[/quote']

Please tell me foods, exercise step by step what you're doing to be so successful. I need help. I've gone in clothes size but weight pounds are so slow nov 20 sleeved and only lost 35 pounds! I'm frustrated I too want to be in onederland.

  18. Greeting everyone. I'm feeling great & I have been getting back to a normal life finally. Today I step on The scale after a week in I'm down again. YESSS. As of right now from my date of surgery 11/7 to now I am 92lb down.

Please tell me moment by moment what goes in your body for nutrition ? I was sleeved 11/20 and I'm down almost 30 only one pant size but I must be down inches or my body's shifting because lately everyone is commenting on my curvy figure. Ha even had an 18 yr old make moves on this old 50 yr old lady. I'm not satisfied with loss at all. Pretty sure not eating right and I definitely need tricks to keep me from wanting to eat at night. Bad habits are hard to break cuz I'm not hungry.

  19. Pre-op 251

    Now 208

    Lost 43lbs.

    Lost 31.625 inches

    Sleeved 11/6/12

Having a lot of nausea suddenly and haven't been able to eat or drink much for this past week. Just feel queasy all the time and the thought of food gets me running to the bathroom. Feels like morning sickness all day but definitely not pregnant. Nth is is awful. Anyone else out there like this?

Wow I had lost four pounds as of yesterday then I blew it and ate some griots and some chips and this morning I was back up three !!! Let this be a lesson don't blow it unless you can take those highs and lows. I'm so bummed at myself.

  20. Not losing in my stomach yet but in my butt. Bought a new top and jeans at the outlet mall. Smaller than I have worn and out of the 200' date=' first time in more years than I can remember!!![/quote']

I so feel like I'm not losing fast enough. Most of the time I'm not hungry but then time for bed and I grab some cheese cubes beef Jerky or almonds. Very hard to get all the liquids In and Proteins. It's 2 pm and I've had 25 GM Protein and 16 oz of liquids. Surgery on 11/20 severe complications that kept me in hospital 5 days then I got the flu so I'm just coming around to eating. I've lost 28 lbs I exercise at work each weekday walking and stair climbing usually for 20 to 30 mins. On weekends I try to go somewhere and walk. Just feeling defeated. Some of you have lost in the 50-60 range with close to the same surgery date. What are you doing that I'm not doing. I'm also obsessed with the scale

  21. Checking in to say that I am not winning any weightloss races here' date=' but I am consistently losing!! The week of Christmas I had company and baked and cooked a lot and ate everything I wanted (smaller quantities of course) and lost!!! I was a bit surprised as I allowed myself some "goodies". (no lectures please) This week, I've continued to lose and don't feel like I'm dieting, which is the goal, right? This is a lifestyle!! Try to be sure to get in my Protein, drink Water, and am moving more!! Worked out with a trainer on Wednesday, went to the pool Thursday, and will go for a long walk today!! I actually think that adding more calories helped me and the extra movement, as about week 3 and 4 I seemed to be stalled. I'm down 28 lbs. since surgery (Nov. 10). I turn 50 this coming week and this is my year to reach my goal!!! [/quote']

You go girl! I would never judge sounds like you handled the Holidays the same way I did. We have to live also I'm eating in the same way that you are. Surgery was the 20 of November and I'm down about 25.we can stay in touch and keep encouraging each other. I just turned 50 last month so we're in the same boat can't wait to hear from you
