Incisions Itchy & Red - see photo
Hey guys! I am so happy that the surgeon said it was an allergic reaction only. It seems like a lot of people had this reaction. 1% hydrocortisone cream is what he prescribed. Thanks for all your advise! You guys are awesome!

My incisions are dry and healed... but it looks like there is a red ring around it and it is super super itchy! It's so bad I can't even sleep. Is anyone else having this issue? I will see md on Friday but for the meantime I don't know what else to do. I Tried lotion, vit e, baby oil, hydrocortisone but didn't work. any advise? Thanks!- Tote Organizer for Liquids
I swear drinking and making sure I'm well hydrated and taking in enough Protein is a FULL time job. Anyway, just thought I'd share to y'all girls what helps me- I lug everything in my little tote. I have 1 L Water, Isopure for protein, baby powder for my itchy incisions, baby lotion, kindle, etc. The problem with me is that: If I don't see it, I don't drink it. So I bring it with me everywhere in the house. Just thought I'd share.- OUCH!
I feel the same way, the largest incision is the one that is bothering me as well. Everything you describe is identical to how I feel, esp bending down hurts. Weird too coz I used to lay on my right side, now that hurts my stomach... I feel like something is pulling and I have to go back to laying on my left side. Im using the abdominal binder and Tylenol chewable once in awhile it helps a little bit and then pain again. Hopefully it will go away soon, it's been 11 days since surgery ;(- Constipation...tell me everything you know!
I have kaiser and MD recommended FiberCon twice a day even if I am not constipated to regulate BM coz he knows it will happen after surgery. I have been taking it twice a day- ever since surgery day, and had first BM on post op day#4, and regular BM everyday after that.- Urgent care

Make sure you take your pain pills and follow up with surgeon. it's been a stressful night for you, rest and get well soon. Keeping you in my prayers tonight. P.S. monitor your temperature to make sure you don't have any fever that develops Take care.- When I drop my weight, I'm going to try (insert answer)!
Can't wait to shop for cute and chic clothes at regular stores. So sick & tired of big girl stores that have hideous styles! Buy Tons of oh so Sexy lingerie! Gotta get rid off all the granny underwear! Get playful & naughty with "toys" (don't have any) -- that will be a huge surprise for both of us. Wear high sexy heels Buy boots that fit my calves Wear Skinny jeans Take Strip tease or burlesque lessons Get nice swimsuit and not wear granny ones for a change ???? Get rid of this CPap machine that works too well as a contraceptive. One look and it's enough to wipe out all of your sex drive!- Urgent care
If you are still having pain in your calf--- demand for an ultrasound of your calf. Make sure they check it for clots/ deep vein thrombosis. Ultrasound can see if u have it or not.- Urgent care
Calm and take a deep breathe... You need to relax so you can be specific and tell them where it hurts. When it started, wheat location, what makes it worse, all those things. If you have questions write them down, so u can ask the Md coz u might forget if you're panicking. Get well soon!- Too emotional and moody?
- Too emotional and moody?
Hahaha lol!!! This is so funny Liz! I am happy to hear from you! I know you've been through a looooot.. And thanks for sharing! Im glad to know that I'm not the only one who is actually experiencing this. And I never had these issues before either, so it's surprising. I'm keeping myself busy. Lol! I dont even have any idle moment- reading a lot, doing homework for grad school, light exercises and cooking healthier for the family. But I agree that it's hormones, and my body is adjusting to everything. I'll take it easy , one day and one pound at a time. Get well my VSG sister! May God keep you safe and heal you as new!- Anyone out there an RN?
Hi there! I'm also in ICU. I asked for 3 weeks off, but right now I'm post op day #8 i really feel fine. I'm thinking I'll just cut it down to two weeks and go back earlier. I just need to make sure I stay hydrated. That's my challenge now, not quite drinking 64oz yet, hopefully I'll meet that goal by then.- Resistance Bands Help
- Too emotional and moody?
Post op day #8. Why am I way toooo emotional??? This is so not me at all and i don't like being it at all. Did anyone else get mood swings and emotional like this? It's like my hormones are on hyperdrive or PMs. I know i read about this--- but am curious if anyone else actually experienced it other than me. Thanks!- asking here because you all have had the sleeve done.
Yoga pants or anything stretchy will also work. I would also recommend a HOT Compress, it helped with my abdominal pain/gas pain at night.- The time has come!
Sending you good luck & well wishes, and praying for a safe surgery and speedy recovery!- Tail bone pain
hi Lizv123, Padded panties sounds good...but i would also recommend getting in touch with your physical/occupational therapist bec they might have better recommendations for padding/ special surface material (seat cushion) for your everyday sitting routine (chair, couch, car, etc). You want to protect your tailbone bec if it's hurting and you're losing weight you don't want to have skin breakdown there which will be hard to heal and painful. moisturize the area, avoid friction, and keep the skin protected. Your hospital should cover this seat cushion --- hope this helps.- Puree diet
Hi Tawnie, I have the same book and I really like it! This was recommended by my nut and surgeon. The recipes are super easy to make- Isopure
Yikes! I agree with you guys, isopure doesn't taste very good. . HOwever, im 6 days post op and can't tolerate much fluid and can't take my shakes coz they make me gassy. So i drink the isopure to get my protein intake in. I just put my iPhone timer every 15 mins and endure the taste- I guess I'm stuck with mine until i feel better. Lucky for me I only got 4 bottles and not the whole case the GNC lady suggested- Resistance Bands Help
