I totally agree with all the replies. Trust me, you NEVER had restriction for donuts!! I can and DID Down bags of powdered donuts over the last year! You can pack a whole lot of junk down our small stomachs if we choose to do so.
Again, as others have said. You still have the tool you need and you can still accomplish YOUR goals! Get your head back in the game, stay totally connected to others like us who have the same struggles and are dealing daily with it and I think you will find yourself quickly in a "better place!"

    Hi stromlin,
    Nice to see you back
It's never to late to get back in the game. It's all about saying ok today I'm working towards health and happiness. And realizing this is a lifetime change.
I've had points where I get sad knowing that I will have to deal with this for life.
But then again, I now know that I have to deal with this for life!
That was the problem with diets I started them, lost the weight and I was "done"
    Hello weight gain.
So we have this... For lack of a better word "tool"
It's great but not a miracle worker.
But it's built in and still there!
So when I fall off the rails I know it's within my power to pick myself up again and use it to its full potential.
The fact of the matter is I can eat unlimited amounts of **** foods. But I still have my restriction for dense Proteins.
So what do we do? Yep, get rid of the crap from our house and our diets and go back to the basics protien and veggies.
    Simple huh?
No not really because of the whole detoxing from carbs is hard I know. But start today and take it day by day. Hell sometimes I take it minute by minute. But if you hang tough long enough you will get through a day then tomorrow is a little easier.
Come here stay here and talk it out.
It helps me so much that others will listen if I'm struggling

Wow, Vidalia, I feel like deja vu! I think I could have written your post verbatim!! I , too, am going to Goodwill about once a week..and it is so much fun! I have finally been able to wear a med/large, 12/14, and end up buying stuff just because it fits and it's cheap! I am really enjoying finding the great deals, and have snagged some nice name brand stuff! Even a black lace dress for $5! I am having a hard time feeling guilty, though! I have a feeling too much of this is not healthy for us, though! (You know, anything that feels real good usually isn't good for you!) I am laughing at the coincidence of your post, because I had a great Goodwill trip today!

I'm being completely sincere here...I think buying second-hand clothes is a totally healthy, inexpensive, environmentally-friendly pastime!
But if you get to the point where you are overwhelmed by all the clothes you own, you could try curating and building the ultimate wardrobe. It could be a fun challenge!
I would make a list and basically set boundaries, like no more than four pairs of jeans, or six dresses, three coats, or whatever number works for you. And then keep on shopping as often as you want, but do it knowing that if you buy another dress and it takes you over your limit, you will have bring back and re-donate another. That way you're always free to look and if you really want it, buy, but only keeping the stuff you love the best.

It's best if you know before.
    1. If you have sleep apnea it's a co-morbidity that insurance will take into account when approving you for surgery.
    2. If you have sleep apnea it impacts the anesthesia that you're given during surgery.
    3. It impacts your general health - with sleep apnea you are probably not getting as good a rest as possible, and you want to be getting that rest in order to heal properly.
    4. Not getting sufficient rest can also impact weight loss negatively.
Your surgeon may ask you to have a sleep study done before approving you for the surgery, and it truly is a good idea.

I thought I would never get used to mine. I had to change straps and the nose cover twice to find one I could live with. I finally settled on the "nasal pillows" and a strap that does not go under my chin. Just keep making yourself wear it and you will get used to it. Now, I can't stand not to use it. It will make you feel so much more rested in the mornings.

For anyone that's interested, this is a nasal pillows mask. This one is the Resmed Swift FX.

I *HIGHLY* recommend nasal pillows over the full-face mask or nose cup. It made a world of difference to me. I hated being awakened in the middle of the night because of the squeak of a leak using the nose cup. I find that nasal pillows seal better and stay on no matter how much I move in my sleep.

Some friends and my husband went to Cheesecake Factory last night. Don't get excited, I scoured the nutritionals and finally found a appetizer salad for 390 cal. It was not easy to find something if you go there but it was very good.
Now to my NSV. My husband and I were sitting in the booth part of a table that had two chairs and no one was sitting next to me on my side. Later I needed to go to the rest room. I carefully got up and before weight loss I had to turn sideways and be very careful that my big butt did not land on the other people's table. Last night I walked out straight on. No sideways, no getting in people's food. It was great.

Well...I haven't yet mustered up the courage to go into a Victoria Secrets, but I did buy myself some cute new lil panties! Wow! What a great feeling! And the other panty victory....before my surgery in November after I dried off from my shower, I would always have to hold onto the bathroom counter as I stuck one leg and then the other leg into the legs of my panties. For the past three days I have been able to put on my panties without holding onto anything! I can't believe how much easier I can MOVE and how much better I can BALANCE. Hope this motivates people who are thinking about this surgery or who have just started. Tiny things like I have described are life changing and liberating!!!

Do you know what Victorias secret is? It's that they don't carry anything over a size 4! Even after losing over 100 lbs and getting into a size 8, I still couldn't find anything in there that fit me!
Yeah for getting rid of the granny panties! used to buy the 6 pack of Hanes Her Way at Walmart (cotton briefs). No more. I buy the single panties (luv boy shorts the most) at Penneys or Khols (usually I'll hit a sale like 5 for $20). They're more expensive that the 6 pack at Walmart, but they make you feel so much better about yourself!
