    Back at work...

Well I am not that far out from surgery and still healing from my infection. I have hit a stall. I figure its because I cant workout. Surgery was 1/16. I am stuck at 235. I am back at work walking around though. Hopefully by next week I will loose a couple more lbs. I want to hit goal by 6 months. I only have 70 lbs to go.

    Long day!

Well a trip to the naval exchange and the mall whooped my butt. I havent been up for that long since surgery 1-16. I was up for 4 hours straight walking around. I know it doesnt sound like a lot but omg do I hurt. With still having this hole I walk funny a bit. So my back and belly was angry. But I have to press through. I go back to work 2-20 and I have to get used to being up and standing on concrete again. Hopefully only another month of this!

    Long day!

Its just this hole in my abdomen that gets me. It is still open and around 2" deep. It starts to burn if I am up too long. And I walk funny making my back hurt. I have been going out every day trying to stay on my feet so I can get used to it.

Why am i not losing weight

i was told at 4 weeks they expected me to loose less then gastric bypass patients which is 25% of your excess weight. I lost that exact amount. I am to eat 3 -1 ounce meals (protein) right now with a little bit of cooked veggie (a bite) and a protein shake. I have been having more than that bc I have had issues getting protein in through shakes and still met their goal. Everyone is different and I find every dr is different. I was sleeved 1/16. Have you been walking?

At home after 3 days of caring for this on our own. The dark spots are where my skin started to turn necrotic and make new holes. The next day I was admitted to the hospital.

    Surgery yesterday, not bad

Heating pads!!! I used one on my abdomen and chest when I got home. I burped all day one day and finally passed gas the day after. Gas x doesn't work just saying.

husband is getting on my DAM nerves!

I have been so lucky that my fiancee has changed his eating habits. He eats everything I eat. But he will have beef and steak. I have to say it doesn't make me jealous. I can eat it eventually. He lost 15 lbs already because he stopped eating out. But no one f's with my popsicles...just saying lol.

husband is getting on my DAM nerves!

fyi dont eat fish sticks lol. not a lot of true protein. tilapia, tuna (tuna steak), salmon, real crab all have around 20 grams of protein in 3 oz. easy to cook. and smack him with a fish stick.....
  17. miralax. it doesnt work immediately but it doesnt hurt. you go naturally without the omg the cramps. i was in the same situation a few days ago. it took a day but its awesome.

Hard journey, murphys law I suppose, infection

Don't be. I am in a 2% chance of this happening so my doc told me. Be prepared for the worst expect the best. I had not seen a lot of negatives on this site so i wanted a good perspective for people to see besides my sleeve had no issues no leaks and i have lost weight. I regretted my decision for 2 weeks and hated myself. But today I feel different.

BACK TO WORK! Down 25 lbs

SOOOOOO, I will be going back to work 2-20. My Dr told me it is perfectly fine to go back to work with my wound as long as I cover it properly. Typical packing gauze and bandage. Also to wear my abdominal binder for extra coverage. Home depot has this dust that gets on everything. In other news I am 241 today and according to my nutritionist I am right on track. They expect at this point for me to have lost 25% of my excess weight. The weigh in they first counted was 266 (I started this at 270). And that is a gastric bypass guideline!! She said that with sleeves normally its a little less so that makes me happy. (Sleeved 1/16) I see a lot of people on here worry about how much they are loosing. I find that the larger you are you will loose a lot more the first few months then a smaller sleever. Patience is a virtue. Soooo cliche but true I have obsessed over my weight this month and with being in and out of the hospital. All to find out I am doing good. I have even been taking in more than I should solid wise due to my gag reaction to protein. The dietitian told me that she understood why and was glad I was trying to stay healthy but try to find one protein shake a day so I can cut back to the 3 ounces of solid. In 2 weeks I can add raw veggies/fruits back in my diet. I cant add exercise back in til this wound heals I am sure that would make a huge difference but I may still be 3 weeks out from that. If I can keep up 25 lbs a month I would be ecstatic!!! My goal weight is 165. Honestly I still cant believe I am sleeved. -Nicole-
