I've had numerous surgeries and in all cases, I'm talking or being talked to, or being wheeled down the hall and I'm out. The very next moment I'm waking up. It's never been a gradual process. Once I was told to count backward from 100. I got to 97 and they started calling my name. I thought, "What do you want? Just get this over." It was over. They were waking me up! For this surgery, they also gave me something to "relax" me before they put me out. I was so happy You won't have any problems!

You really don't even realize it happens. They give you something to relax you and you're semi aware of being wheeled in to the OR and you're really not aware of anything else after that until you come out of it. Of course at that point I wanted them to put me back under because I hurt like hell, but you take what you can get

Hello everyone, yesterday was a long day. I had my final meeting before surgery. We had nutrition class, sugery date and meet with surgeon. I was not able to get the date I wanted which was 11-26 . Therefore, my cousin will have her surgery a week before me. They could have done it this friday, but this too fast lol. I will be content and do it 12-3. I have to do a liver diet too. I will start 11-25. I feel like I already started, I can not keep nothing down. I am sipping on gatorade and eating crackers. I will start my Thanksgiving cooking today for my family because I have to work tonite and Thanksgiving. I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for . Lord, thank you for this opportunity for a new life and healthy me. I am so nervous, and excited!!

I just wanted to let you know that I know a lot of you are worried about pain after surgery. And I am here to testify that not EVERYONE has pain. Whether it be gas pains or incision pains some people do not have any problems what so ever. Everyone is different so don't base your nerves on what youve read from someone else's experience. I came out of surgery and never once had gas, nausea, or any sort of pain. I am 3 wks post now and I do have an occasional muscle ache in my abdomen but this is the first an only time ive had any discomfort. So cheer up!! You're gonna be great!! You are taking the first step into your new lives. GO GET U SOME SKINNY!!

I know my mom will be such a hattttter! When I was smaller she gave me no words of encouragement. Occasionally she would say "that top looks nice," but it was almost like she didn't want to. She has issues with emotions. I was looking pretty good. God help her once I get down to that weight, minus sixty more, plus I'm cute.. Good grief. Sorry, just had to toot my own horn for a second.

Ugh I hate discouraging ppl. I had someone tell me I didn't need the surgery I could just loose weight. How can you look at how unhappy someone is and try to hinder them from making a change? Ehhh whatever is done is done for you. I dont care what anyone says, my mind is made up!!

Hey ladies! Here's some HOPE for you!! I TTC for 7 years due to PCOS and was also very overweight. We adopted our beautiful son in 2007 and thought our family was complete. I had my VSG in 2010 and lost 140 lbs in 1 year. At a yearly physical, my OBGYN took me off birth control (taken to regulate my periods) because she realized I had a blood clotting factor and it could be very dangerous to continue on BC. We didn't do anything to prevent pregnancy because it hadn't happened in 7 years right? Well, 2 months later I was preggo! I gave birth 11 days ago to a beautiful, HEALTHY, 5lb, 4oz baby boy and we couldn't be happier! An unexpected blessing that I KNOW would not be here without my sleeve! In my opinion and experience, weight loss DEFINATELY increases fertility!! Good luck!!

That was one reason I went for this surgery. My daughter is 11yrs and I could never get pregnant after her. My period was very irregular. I used to go three months without one and have it stay two weeks. Than it will show a month later last four days and that's it for another three months or so. Since surgery I am regular. Can't really get pregnant yet since we are to wait at least 12-18 months. But I have a great feeling that I will get pregnant as soon I get the green light from my doctor. CAN'T WAIT!!

I'm 37, and getting sleeved Friday. I plan on trying to get pregnant next Summer, after my High School Reunion. We have a 2 year old, and I gained about 35 pounds with her during my pregnancy, on top of about 20 from working a desk job before that. I didn't want to get pregnant while I was already heavy, adding more fat on top of fat. I knew it would be so hard to get off, and it's not healthy . I see nothing wrong with having a child in late 30's or early 40's. Some of us didn't have the right person in our lives , or weren't ready for children earlier. Go for it!!
