  1. Welcome, And good luck on your stress test! I wanted to be able to be here for my children too, it was one of the most important factors as to why I had this surgery
  2. Well the thing is, these rats were fed high fat on none fast days... That to me would be the equivalent of me fasting then eating McDonalds, Then fasting again and McDonalds... I don't go crazy (for the most part) on my feed days.
  3. Congrats! Glad your doing well!
  4. Mafar, At 174 you started quite small.. Perhaps not too you, but trust me to a lot of people that's small. While a 18 pound loss is great, people probably won't notice much when a small person gets a little smaller. My advice? Screw em, you did this to get rid of your band, lose the regain and feel good. And by your first couple of sentences it sounds like that is happening!
  5. Georgia my new BFF!!
  6. I'm loving this guy tonight! http://www.drsharma.ca/how-many-extra-calories-do-you-need-to-become-obese.html **** it's late!! And I'm all alone here reading I need to go to bed!! Nighty night
  7. Oh and really thank you! I could not find it I like this Sharma guy I've been enjoying his articles on OH (sorry Alex)
  8. Thanks!!!! Oh a picture of me waiting and scared for my weigh in!! Butters request
  9. Thanks I was poking around looking for it!
  10. Poor pokey! I think the ole girl was just sowing her wild oats! Or eating them... The love boat... Exciting and newww... Come aboard we're expecting youuuu.... You go bigcountryab !!
  11. Good stuff misty. We had a discussion about this in the 5:2 a couple of weeks ago. I find the research very compelling (and a slight bit confusing) and have been looking into diversifying my intake. I think one of the girls (FYE) is taking in ancient grains to mix it up.
  12. I had a "check up" with my surgeon today. It's funny how I stressed about the weigh in.. But he seemed pretty happy with it. I asked him about long term success.. He said first off, that he sees his patients yearly after the first year... Glad I like him! He said yes he sees lots of regain but it happens slowly for most of them, about 10 pounds a year on average. It's the slow creep of getting to comfortable.. We also talked about reduced calories for us compared to a "normal" weighted person of the same size that never had weight issues. What thread was that here? About consuming 20% percent less than an never been obese person? Well it sounds about right. I also asked about stretching of the sleeve. Has he actually seen it with his own eyes? He told me yes more than once. It's not unusual if someone continually eats to over full. So that was definitely "food for thought" It gave me a better handle on the things I need to do and look out for to have more potential for long term success. Me at the doctors scared to be weighed....
  13. My fast was a little over yesterday.. Stress was not handled the way I wanted it. So a handful of almonds did me in after dinner.. Ugh I wanted to do good! But I also had an appointment with my bariatric surgeon today... So I stressed ate about being weighed! Well the surgeon was pleased as punch with my weight so I worried for not.. We talked about eating and confirmed yes we will have to eat less than a "normal" person for the rest of our lives as not to regain. And I asked about stomach stretching he says yes it happens. and has seen it with his own eyes! Scary stuff!
  14. Lol! See, now that's the fat comparison I want to see with my morning coffee!
  15. Tell me about it I was expecting like a picture of me "before" and some hot bikini model!! Nope I got an actual fat picture
  16. Don can you post a picture of the difference between and apple fritter and a bear claw.. I'm drinking coffee and the fat pick kinda turned me off
  17. Sorry your not feeling well Georgia I hope you get better soon. Skinniness you ate some bread? In the form of pizza hehehe... Ok biopsy done! It went well, I won't know anything for at least a week so.. But as far as the pain, not to bad, although I'm going to play it up when my husband comes home! Maybe I can get out of cooking dinner Fasting is going ok today, I'm not hungry but I want to eat. Sucky but I'll be strong (I hope)
  18. Great job M2G! I'm staying around 158 but at the doctors today their scale said 161!!!! I'm hoping my shoes and clothes weigh a lot It sucks because I wiegh in tomorrow with my bariatric surgeon and it will be fully clothed too. So yeah. When I weigh at home it's naked and I exhale
  19. America.... Capital A Sorry I'm a proud American And to the Mexican coordinators..... Why fight? And put each other down? All the backstabbing, bickering, stories told. Don't you know? There are plenty fat Americans (see capital A) to go around. No need to get greedy..
  20. It washes the food out quicker which can make you hungrier sooner, which would make you eat sooner, which would make you eat more, which would make you gain weight.... So both.
  21. I'm well. Up too early today.. But I'm glad I saw this post, so it's worth it! Me skinny??? Hehehe, now I like you even more!!
  22. Lol! Up with the chickens today because my husband got up at 4am for work and woke me up. Then I couldn't go back to sleep because the donut shop down the street! The wind is just right and my bedroom window was open! Oh the smell of apple fritters were dancing all around me! Now I come here and you girls are talking about ice slices and even a cake and sausage roll?? Hehehe... Ok fast day, and biopsy day so double fun. Good luck to the other girls fasting today. Oh and welcome iegal.
  23. Tyson!! Look at you! Didn't think it was possible but you've gotten even cuter Sorry about the gallbladder... But a small price to pay for that AWESOME weight loss!
