  1. We went to kings mountain art fair it in the redwoods above woodside... It was awesome we parked and hiked on a trail that made its way up to the fair You can take a shuttle up to it but hey why not get a hike in while your at it? So we got 3.7 miles down today!!! The fair was great but it was bizarre to hike in the redwoods and end up at a fair looking at artwork that cost 10.000 dollars (didn't buy anything ) sipping wine to turn around and hike back down again!
  2. And furthermore it had nothing to do with anybody eating in moderation! It had to do with the foul delivery and Belittling those of us that enjoy being here and taking part in productive conversation.. So please let's go back to the ORIGINAL TOPIC!
  3. Fiddle I almost don't need to answer this thread because you know I still fight binge behaviors.. I too went for a hike yesterday it was awesome! We hiked up to an art and wine festival being held high up in the redwoods! I indulged in carb laden foods during the hike and wine at the festival. Afterwards at dinner in addition to my regular sashimi I ate a piece of regular sushi (rice) and then several bites of green tea ice cream! Later in the evening I just wanted to stuff! I wasn't hungry but "needed" the tastes.. Not proud, and upon waking today, I feel the "hunger" stronger than yesterday. But I will get my self straight today. I thought about bingeing last night. I would binge to stuff bad feelings yes, and I've worked on changing that, But I binged in the past too after good days or good things that happened to me. I had a very handsome man ask me out several years ago after he gave a speech at a class I was taking. All the young girls thought he was hot. And he talked to me! Asked me out!!! I was so giddy all the home! And when I got home? I binged, binged for the rest of the day. This week I pleased my bariatric surgeon with my weigh in and progress, I went home and did a mini binge. So today I realized I need to know how to handle my "good" feelings too without turning to food. Sorry for the long post
  4. Yes my dear onward and upward! And on that note.. I really liked the Sharma article. It really puts it into perspective. This is about health. And losing even just a little bit of weight in the beginning I was able to get off of high blood pressure meds! That's a goal! One that I'm going to work hard at, so as to never go back
  5. Yes!!!! http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin's_law
  6. Alex edited deltas post and some comments after.. Actually at this point I would like if he would of taken everything she said down and following comments.. In my eyes she ruined a perfectly good thread.
  7. You know the food funeral thing is a tough one.. When I knew I had a date I went to the store before my pre op and picked up a pint of some kind of ice cream (can't even remember the flavor how sad) went home and ate half of it that night and finished it the next day.. After I ate it?? Nothing, it was just gone it didn't feel special it didn't make me feel better, in fact it did nothing for me except make me feel crappier about myself and add more weight to lose! Fast forward to today, I can eat normal again so if I wanted a bit of ice cream I could. So I guess what I'm saying is don't sabotage yourself with thoughts of "I need to eat this now because I can never have it again"
  8. OMG! And OMG AGAIN! Looking good OTR!
  9. I think we can safely say those are some pictures that most of us can give a **** about too....
  10. Thanks FYE for the recipe! Ok I keep getting thrown off of this thread. I don't get updates and I think "ok no one is posting" then I check and I've missed tons!! I hope everyone's weekend is going well. I've had a day of indulgence so far! We went to a art and wine festival up in the mountains. I drank wine and ate sweets then went to a sushi dinner afterwards, oh boy! What can I say I was in the holiday spirit
  11. I did the most bizarre but awesome 3.7 miles today!!!
  12. I wasn't allowed before, and definitely not after either.
  13. Thanks for putting that link up!
  14. Goal weight?? Well my advice....make it realistic AND most importantly something you can MAINTAIN!!
  15. You know I don't mind dropping the money on them... It makes me feel good at every new stage. The first round though (when I got into normal girl store 14's) was a little weird, in the sense that I almost liked them so much I felt complacent about losing more for a few weeks...
  16. Kill someone? Haha glad you don't know where I live!! I remember telling my husband to just let me sleep through the pre op diet.., I couldn't imagine quitting something like smoking too.. It's going to be hard yes. Nothing about this process is easy, but it's all worth it, trust me. Sometimes I take a step back and realize just how lucky I am. Think about it. We are doing this! Do you know how many people that would LOVE to have this chance? And can't for whatever reason, insurance, money etc... Not to sound corny, but we are truly blessed. You can and will do it
  17. Bonnie, How goes the no smoking today??
