Hunger
Ha! I was just sitting here contemplating hunger... I've been think about "true" hunger since yesterday and what that means and feels like. So this morning I asked a naturally thin person (My husband) I explained my confusion on this. I don't know what hunger is/was? I think I'm not as hungry as before, but quite honestly before I don't think I ate most of the time out of this thing called hunger... "So what does hunger feel like to you?" I ask what are your "signals" he tells me "my head, I get a signal in my brain that says you need to eat, your body is in need of food" ???? Not a empty feeling? Not weak?? No! a brain signal! He tells me "right now I'm not hungry at all I'm not thinking about food it hasn't even come up in my brain since I've been awake" Well f**k! I tell him "your brain?" My brain is always telling me to eat! I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about food. When I woke up this morning my second thought was food... To this he says "well there's the problem, your brain signals are broken" ... Hunger? What is it? Good question, I think it is so many different things for different people.

can you tell me what you think this was?
I'll tell you what you did wrong. You should eat yogurt that is sugar free first off. Second if you ate something that disagreed with you, the last thing you should do is eat MORE food to chase it with, and peanut butter? Fat (and sugar) would just make dumping worse. Ditto with the cheese.

I feel hunger yes not as much, I think after a while at least for me, I have a hard time comparing hungry from before and now.. Because honestly I ate. I ate a lot, and it had nothing to do with hunger. I just read this tidbit.. It's so interesting all of the conflicting info! By the way I believe you can stretch your stomach. Maybe not all the way, but enough to get you in trouble. I think at one point this article says its ok to have sweets sometimes just don't stuff yourself with anything! This is my problem I always ate until it was uncomfortable... And pain means nothing to me. http://www.obesitycoverage.com/weight-loss-surgeries/gastric-sleeve/gastric-sleeve-will-my-stomach-stretch- Long term prognosis

I was reading another forum last night and a woman just got back from a seminar with her bariatric doctors they told the people that the sleeve is great, but also said that after about the five year mark the restriction goes away and hunger is back all the way and most need to be re-sleeved!! Thoughts? So I've been thinking about it all day, and have done some poking about a bit and some reading.. http://www.medpagetoday.com/Endocrinology/Obesity/40490 And I found this an interesting statement coming from a doctor at a bariatric conference... “Doctors are constantly concerned with durability. The gastric sleeve gained instant popularity because it is quick and easy to master, and is a less difficult operation than a bypass,” said Dr. Coon. However, he stressed the need for surgeons to learn all of the facts, perform extensive prep work, and communicate effectively with each patient before deciding whether the sleeve gastrectomy is appropriate. “With new surgeries, outcome is always hard to predict,” he said. “If five years from now it still seems to be a good operation, then it probably will continue — and then again it might fail. Regardless, people will continue to promote it or disagree with it.”- Healthy Nachos for Football Season
