    2years post op

My story is very similar to yours, but I am 3 yrs out. I fell into the same pattern; not watching what I ate, not getting enough protein, etc, etc.. Now I don't know how to get control again.

    A little discouraged

Aw Ashley, don't worry about it. I too get discouraged, but your doctor is absolutely right, everyone's body is different. As long as you're seeing minus, don't worry about it. Your body will lose exactly the way it's supposed to - for YOU. Comparisons to other people are nice, but don't gauge what you lose by that. Just do what you're supposed to do and be happy.

    It's hilarious to eat, now

Also, I was getting a little bummed out because prior to the holidays, I had "only" lost 23 lbs., but I weighed yesterday and am down close to 30. Just didn't think it was coming off fast enough as compared to everyone else, but then I thought about how I'm 62 yrs. old and everyone's body is different. Anyhow, I feel better now. Anyone else feel like that, or am I the only "old" chick? ha ha ha

    It's hilarious to eat, now

Wow, you guys are doing excellent! I was sleeved on 11/14, and I totally agree with everything you're saying. There are times when I'm eating dinner and I know if I eat one more bite of anything, I'll throw up. Still getting used to how much I can eat. Though some days a little more and some days less.

    Any November 14Th Sleevers?

Hi everyone. I too am a Nov. 14th sleever. I had the pain my left shoulder right after surgery, but only for the first day. The doc said it was from the air they pumped in me during surgery. My biggest concern is that I was on liquids only for 2 wks. prior to surgery, and I lost 12 lbs., but it all came back after surgery, and today, I'm only down 13 lbs. - it was 3 wks. this past Wed. I know everyone is different, and it's really hard for me to get the fluid and protein all in every day. Maybe this is the reason I haven't lost more? I am walking everyday, and people are starting to notice the inches I've lost, but that scale is definitely not my friend.

    4 Wks Post Op Miserable

Hi guys. I just got sleeved on wed., and so far - so good. The worst part for me so far has been the pain in my shoulder from the gas. Once I got rid of that, all else seems to be good. I expected the energy loss from the anesthetic and stuff, but I'm drinking my clear liquids and all seems to be coming right along. It's Isopure for me. It doesn't taste bad at all, and the LaBrada Lean Body shakes are pretty good as well - when you have to do the shakes, which I had to two for 2 wks. prior to surgery. Lux, I'm sorry you're having a hard time of it, and wish you the best. I'll try to keep you guys posted on my recovery and progress.
  7. Hi fellow sleevers.............you can't scare me. ha ha ha I know the risk is only like 1%, but I have lost 5 siblings and my mom to massive heart attacks, had open heart surgery myself (4 yrs. ago - no symptoms - found it on a stress test - lost another sister 2 days before my surgery - yep, the big HA), my body constantly produces kidney stones (a kidney disease), so I pass at least a few stones a month, and I had a hip replacement last August. So you know what........bring it on!!!!!!

    Surgery Tomorrow At 9:30Am

Yayyyyy - your "weight" is over.........everything will be fine. Good luck! Come back on as soon as you feel up to it and give us a report. God Bless!
  9. COsleevedude: why is it so important that she answer you........can't we all just get along. Just let it go, it's really not worth it, is it? I'm really new, but I think the most important thing here is that we all support each other. If someone doesn't like what someone else is saying, switch to another forum. Let's don't stress each other out, God knows we have enough stress with what we're going through.

    Over 60 Sleeve

Hi sleevers. I am gonna be 62 in Jan., and I set for the 14th. I'm having a little problem with the protein/water only diet for these 2 weeks, but I find I don't miss the food as much as I miss the chewing and crunching, ya know? I "cheated" and had a 1/4 c of cottage cheese 2 days ago, and today I had a salad with FF dressing. I am sooooo ready for this journey.Good luck to all!

Nervous - I Begin My Pre-Op Diet Today

Hi everyone. My surgery is on the 14th as well, and this is the 5th day of my protein shake/water diet. I broke down and had a salad with FF dressing on it. The second day I had a 1/4 c of cottage cheese. It's not even so much that I'm hungry as it is I miss chewing and crunching. I feel like a failure already, and the two things I've cheated with aren't really that bad, are they? Someone PLEASE make me feel better.

    Finally:-)

Sorry you guys..........I double replied you. As you can see, I'm new at this - and at this rate, I'm not gonna get old at it. (

    Finally:-)

Good for you Rainbows. I remember the day I got that call. Had a few mixed emotions that I didn't expect. I was excited mostly, but some apprehension moved in as well. My surgery is the 14th, and though I may get a little nervous as that draws near, I can't wait!

    Finally:-)

Yayyyyy for you rainbow. I remember the feeling when I got that call. A little mixed. Excited, apprehensive and all that goes with them. My surgery is the 14th, and I can't wait. I imagine I'll be nervous as it gets closer, but I'm so ready.
  15. Wow, I was going to ask a question, but I don't think I will now. I hope you two "make up" before the next time I get on. I only joined today, but already I'm disillusioned.

    Too Fast

Hi Butterfly. Not to worry. Everything will turn out just as it should and you will be fine. It won't be easy, but is anything ever????? I also have BC/BS and had to go through the whole psych visit, 3 visits to the dietician/nutritionalist, provide 5 yrs. of weight history, etc., etc., etc., but I got approval rather quickly. I started the liquid protein diet on Wed., and that's all I'm allowed (well, water as well), but I do have one cup of coffee in the morning. It's a challenge, but so far, so good. I don't know how much I'm expected to lose, but I think 20% of the total lbs. overweight? My surgery is on the 14th. Good luck
  17. Hi everyone. This past Wed. I started my pre op protein. My surgery is set for 11/14, and tho I am hungry, it's taking me awhile to get "used to" the fact that I can only have the protein shakes. It's getting better, so I'm hoping I can do this without any cheating.
  18. Hi everyone. I started my two wk liquid protein diet this past Wed., but that's all I'm allowed. Well that, and water. My surgery is the 14th, so I'm not too far away. Those of you who are allowed to have anything other than the liquid protein are very lucky.

    The End Of The Beginning

Hi Day. I know I can. I will definitely have challenges, but I think I'm up for them. What's your story?
  20. I'm new at this, so please be patient if I seem not-so-smart about posting, etc. I went to my first weight loss seminar in March of this year, and have been pondering it ever since. My niece and her fiance' have had the sleeve done, and are doing great, so I've been watching their journey as well. Since I've tried every weight loss gimmick and plan and have always gained the weight back, I finally decided that I needed something that would finally work. That is why I chose the sleeve. I made an appt. with the surgeon, went for all my introductory appts. at his office and finally met with him last month. My surgery is scheduled for the 14th, and I just started the pre op diet of protein drinks only on Wed. So far, so good. I wish myself and all of you pre op members the best!
