I didnt over eat and was still fat. What I did was make bad food choices and was not active enough.

Easy way my ass!! Sorry for the language but I became so fed up with that crap about it being the easy way out. I hardly think having more than half your stomach removed, eating less than 800 calories a day and aches and pains to make even the toughest man shed some tears is EASY!! What we did was save our lives and that my friend takes dedication and a strength no one outside of weight loss surgery will experience. The only thing that matters right now is your happiness and health and if they don't want to be on board with your happiness and health, to hell with them. Sorry but I went through the same thing with some people including my girl who couldn't handle the change and left me after 10 years but I love myself and I love that I will live longer and no one is going to take that from me. I am a little less than 3 months and I am approved for salads. It goes down great. I usually do a spinach salad with grilled chicken or shrimp.

I hate stevia. I'm not sure how anyone is able to ingest that stuff. Ugggghhh

First of all I am very sorry that this happened to the OP, however I can already feel the heat for what I am about to say.

It seems as though from what everyone has discussed this was a consensual sexual relationship between two adults. To me. putting this post out there was kind of premature. I understand the whole fact that you wanted to warn people, but honestly if someone wants to sleep with someone after 4 days of knowing them then it's probably going to happen with someone else anyway. If that Dr. would have pulled those lines on me I would have felt flattered but obviously would have thought he was trying to pull one over on me and denied him.

The reason I am saying this is because it HAS happened to me in a different situation. I have had my Dentist, male nurse, and Teacher's assistant (in college) ask me out. My Fiancé' now (and have a kid with) was my manager. Even though he was in a position of power, and probably told me every line in the book, does not mean that I was taken advantage of. I understand that it is different when you are having surgery but the principals are the same.

Do I think it is unethical? Yes I do
Do I think that the OP is to blame? Yes, partly
Do I think action should be taken against him? Sure, if you feel that's right
Do I think that that this is blown out of proportion? Yup.

My thought is that this topic has been discussed enough and that at this point we are beating a dead horse over the head.. Dr Garcia is taking whatever action he deems necessary and/or appropriate. I think it is time to move on for those of us who were not there and have no clue what really happened. I see people bring up stories about "I was raped too!" etc etc, which I think has no place in this discussion. To personalize this is inappropriate. I am sorry you were raped, I am. Rape is a horrible thing. But that 'may' not be what happened here. You only have to read her blogs to realize there 'may' be more to the story. Was it inappropriate? Absolutely!!! But the fact remains that we have NO CLUE what really happened. Like her, Dr Luna also deserves to have his side of the story told. It would be a scary day when all we had to do is hear a story to deem it true. At this point, both her and the proper authorities need to take it where it needs to go. Not a lynch mob of forum members who have only heard one side of the story.

Even though I agree with most of what you said.......everyone's journey is different. Sometimes it takes people longer to understand what they have/should do regarding eating. I don't judge anyone for this reason.

I was in the same boat. I was lucky to have my appointment in January, SO I wore heavy clothes, drank 16oz, ate something, had heavy jewlery on, and some change in my pockets. Hahah every ounce counted. I weighed in with a BMI of 40.3.
