My tastebuds and sense of smell is very sensitive now too. Just tonight my husband had some egg drop soup and I took one teaspoon and almost threw up. The egg taste was so strong. I use to love egg drop soup. Among other things I can't stand sweet drinks not even if it is artificial sweetner in them. Drinking plain water is getting old. But its better then the alternative wich is nothing..stay strong. We will survive.

Yeah I had that problem too. SInce I love to read on my work break I started taking a bite and then not taking the next one until I had read two pages. It helped me to learn how to space it out. I also figured out that when I allow myself to get hungry, and THEN eat, is when I gulp my food. I now eat on a schedule so that I'm really not that interested in eating when I do eat and thus am more apt to take my time. I also figured out that a lot of times when I was 'hungry' I was actually behind on my water intake. By keeping up with the fluids I not only felt more full, but was again less likely to gulp down my food. Hope this helped and good luck!

At nine months out now...I STILL try to inhale my food when I get too hungry. Then the paaaiiin hits. I have to consciously tell myself when I sit down, "eat slowly, eat slowly, chew a lot, put the fork down." otherwise, the full sensation does not register until i've swallowed too much. I fear that this may have led to some capacity increase, but I could be totally wrong. It just seems that if there is pain in the sleeve, it's being taxed.... I don't want to stretch it. That would be my concern. That, and just plain overeating.

I confess, it's still my biggest challenge..I have always been a fast eater. Four months out, and I'm getting better, but still haven't broke the habit. I don't always hurt, but I've slimed more than I care to admit..It mostly happens when eating out, or eating with people other than my family.

I've had the same experience early on. I was able to get down 6 oz yogurt, cottage cheese, cream of wheat....etc etc WITH NO PROBLEM. Now that I'm eating tuna, beans etc. I fill up much faster. I lost 19 lbs in first 2 weeks...THEN NOTHING FOR TWO WEEKS I actually gained 3 back. I'm happy to say I've lost those 3 lbs and 2 more. Hang in there, AND.....water water water
