Weightloss Without Execrise
I have fibro as well. Aquacize is a great work out for anyone with an autoimmune disease.

Gastric Bypass Way More Dangerous...
10k cheaper?!?! Dang, what are you paying? My surgeon (centers of excellence) only charges 16k for RNY and 14k for sleeve.

Crystal Light?
I'm preop, but I have IBS and artificial sweetener does this to me. So much so that I can not do chewable vitamins.

Sick Preop
I'm on day five of that bug. Ugh, I'm miserable.

Dumping
Lay down on your back or left side and elevate your feet. That will help the blood get to your brain so you don't pass out. A cold rag on the head/face/back of neck may help. Point a fan on your face as well.

Gastric Bypass Way More Dangerous...
My surgeon also said more risk for leakage with sleeve and that he's more confident in RNY since its been around so much longer.

Pre-Op Labs? Cbc W/o Diff. Will They Cancel?
Thinking of you and anxious to hear how you're doing.

Pre-Op Labs? Cbc W/o Diff. Will They Cancel?
Wondering how you're doing. You should be checking in soon. I'm saying prayers for a quick recovery!

Pre-Op Labs? Cbc W/o Diff. Will They Cancel?
I'm a nursing student and I personally don't think the numbers are "off" enough that it would affect surgery.

Depressed To Realize It's Come To This.
Okay, don't laugh (I realize I'm all over the place... probably will be for months before and after surgery) but I was hungry when I wrote this. After I wrote it, I ate a bowl of high protein, low cal, delicious home-made chili. I put on my sneakers and walked for 15 minutes. I drank some water. I sat down and read on my surgeon's website about the benefits of surgery... and now I'm feeling much better. Someone remind me of this protocol next time I post something so drab! (which is likely to be tomorrow, lol)

5 Months Post-Op
You look AMAZING!!! How do you feel? How have the last 5 months been?

5 Days Post-Op & Protein Drinks = Ick!
I have to do the 2 week liquid diet post-op as well, so I'm anxious to hear how others cope with it. One lady told me that for a treat when she got really desperate during those two weeks, she would go to Taco Bueno (don't know if you have that in your part of the US) and order tortilla soup, strain it, and drink the broth because it had flavor to it. You could do that, but even add some unflavored protein powder to something that already tastes good to you. What about putting protein in some SF jello? Or freezing the isopure like popsicles?

Depressed To Realize It's Come To This.
Ever since things got real... doing post-op testing, setting dates, etc.. I've been really down and depressed. I just can not believe my life has come to this. WHY can't I get healthy on my own?! This process is so much more of a mind game than I ever thought it would be. I don't want to give up food! I am so afraid that once my coping mechanism is taken away, that I won't be able to deal with life. I know we run the gamut of emotions during this process. Anyone else had these thoughts? Anyone else feel disappointment in themselves for NEEDING this procedure? I wish I could go back to the excitement of last week, but now it's just getting closer and closer and my thoughts/emotions are all over the place.

Horror Stories On Youtube
Anyone else watch all of the videos about the complications some people have had? I had a full on panic attack last night after an hour or so on YouTube. My husband has grounded me from YouTube until after surgery.

Is My Dr Insane?
This is absurd. I'm in nursing school and know patient's rights. You have a legal RIGHT to proper pain relief.

Optifast
4 weeks of liquid only? I'm assuming optifast are shakes. I really don't think I could do that! Bless your heart!

Christmas Question
I would be interested to hear this as well. My surgery is Dec 10th and I need to be able to take care of my mom at Christmas. (she has chemo the week before and will likely be too sick to take care of herself)

Ready To Ditch The Chewables
I'm pre-op and the chewables make me sick! This just can't be a good sign. I have the bariatric advantage preop multivitamin in berry... it's not TERRIBLE, but not good. I also have the bariatric advantage calcium chewables in cinnamon.... I feel like I'm dying when I eat them. lol They BURN! Why so violent chewable vitamin? I've got to get my hands on a different flavor.

Caltrete Gummies
I think the gummies have half as much calcium as the chewables if I remember correctly. That's how it is with the bariatric advantage brand anyhow. Only 250g in the gummies and the chewables are 500g. I think the chewables are tearing up my stomach though. (I"m pre-op)

Scared And Second Guessing For First Time
You all are saying exactly the things I needed to hear! If nothing else, I"ve gotten 100x more support here than I did on Lap-band talk (a few years and several pounds ago) or Vertical Sleeve Talk! I definitely just need to pray and hand it over to God. NorthwestBeauty, I LOVE the scripture in your signature, how perfect for my situation!
