Itching is probably the little nerves reconnecting. Old hippie gal, dr roller doesn't do drains, you will be on a morphine pump, and they put the iv where they find a vein.. Usually hand or forearm. Try not to be nervous, it's been easier than I anticipated.

I was the same way, totally at peace. You're going to rock this. I feel pretty good today except for groggy.

I survived! In quite a bit of pain because I've been without pain meds for a couple hours. My iv site blew and they couldn't get it restarted so had to wait until anesthesiologist was available to try to get a site. 5 sites later and I just got a hit of morphine. I'm soooooooo thirsty, but I'm NPO till morning. All in all though it hasn't been too bad. I'd still do it again.

So I'm a little shaken up. Surgery is tomorrow, was on clear liquids today and had to drink that magnesium citrate to clear my bowels. After that I wasn't feeling well so I laid down. My 7 year old comes in screaming that the three year old was bleeding and dad couldn't get it to stop. I jumped up, realized his teeth were displaced and we rushed him to the dentist where they did emergency oral surgery to remove two teeth. It was a brutal surgery since they were still attached to the bone... Lots of blood. Anyways, as soon as the last suture was placed, I passed smooth out in the office, came to and puked my guts up. Also my stool is bright red, but that citrate drink was red. Do y'all think I'm ok to have surgery tomorrow?

My surgery date is actually tomorrow. It originally was the tenth but got changed. I'm doing clear liquids today and the bowel prep and I'm starving! Not nervous yet... It'll eventually hit, I know it. Going to try to choke down this magnesium citrate now... Wish me luck!

I have a spanx tank top and also a tight tube thing that you use to keep regular pants up while you're pregnant. I'm betting either of those would work.

RNY on Monday, 12/10, Scared!
My surgery is Wednesday and yeah, I'm terrified. But I won't allow myself to think about the bad things that could happen because I'm NOT backing out so what is going to happen is going to happen. I have faith in my surgeon and more importantly in my God. So I'm just moving forward each day and keeping a Xanax in my pocket just in case! Lol! Good luck to you. You're going to be fine!

Made through all the test 12-12-12 is the for sure!

Are you mixing your shakes with milk? Maybe lactose intolerance.... About 9% of bypass patients develop it.

Jessica, this isn't uncommon. It can be a side affect from anesthesia, but usually has more to do with the bladder adjusting to the catheter being gone. Ask if they have a peri bottle that you can use to spray warm water over your privates as you sit on the toilet, that may help. If not sometimes they will give meds to help or re-cath you for a little while.

Uncontrollable diarrhea. Like pooping yourself. Usually a fever, nausea and vomiting. Like the worst stomach bug you can imagine.

Lol Jessica, that's normal. You're swollen, plus they pumped your belly full of gas during the surgery.
