They were right, you are too small. Best to wait until you pack on another 75 pounds and have more co-morbidities. That'll show them!

I had my pre-op class today and it definitely made me feel a little out of place. My BMI is 37, so I am overweight, but the other people in the class were REALLY overweight. I know I am making the right decision for myself but definitely had my first set of "am I really doing the right thing?" feelings. Anyone else have the same experience? I almost feel kind of silly for having the surgery.

I was sleeved on the 18 th too! Congrats to u!!! I haven't passed any gas either. Had a few small burps but that was it. My pain has been more from gas and the bad headache I got from the morphine. They ended up giving me toradol and that helped much better than the morphine. Have u had any trouble keeping stuff down? I had 3 baby spoon worth of vanilla chobani yogurt when I got home and it slide right back up. I'm supposed to be doing all liquids and that includes Greek yogurt without bit of fruit in it; low fat cream Soups strained; sugar free pudding and jello... nothing feels good once I swallow. Wondering if my sleeve is still too swollen to handle anything other than liquids. I think I'm calling the nutritionist tomorrow just to check. I don't want to lose muscle mass or hair. Oh and have you tried gas x strips or chewables? I chewed up 2 today and it seemed to help get stuff moving. No gas out but it did help with a small bm. Tmi but hope it helps! Keep in touch. I was sleeved on the 18th of December I will be leaving the hospital today # Im hoping# The first night was extremely painful I mean it was unbearable and the nurse staff couldn't seem to find an antidote for my pain I didn't get "a pain pump inserted either" ???why I don't know?? but my
Dr decided to give me "Ketorolac" and Lorazapam seeing that the morphine didn't glad that this combination worked I'm feeling great #I know this is a bit of T.M.I.but I can't seem to "pass gas" my Dr keeps telling me that I have to, its just not happening...' oh well now I'm just waiting to be released by my Dr because I'm ready to go home now!

The first day/night was hell for me too and they gave me duladid.....it gets a little better everyday. CONGRATULATIONS om being sleeved!

As I was looking at my swollen feet last night and sweet talking my husband into massaging them, I started thinking this is one of the things I won't miss after losing weight. What are yours?
1). The swollen feet and ankles of course
2) the red mark around my waist from wearing elastic top pants
3) under boob sweat
4) the dents I get in my thighs from sitting in a too small chair with arms

I'm scheduled for 7:30 AM on 12/31/2012 (insurance pending)! Who else is kicking off the New Years right that day?

I am currently dating someone that I met a month after I had the surgery...she is really nice...real sweet. Buuuut I am not use to all this attention I am now getting...it feels soo good, I dont want to be in a commited relationship. I want to get out in enjoy the new me!! I never thought that I would feel this way before the surgery , I dont want to hurt the person I am with now... has anybody else been in this postion before and how did you handle it?

I think anorexia means the absence of hunger but people with nervosa do have hunger, they just won't eat. I think it's unfair to compare WLS to a dark mental health issue that kills a lot of people - but that's just me.

Anorexia nervosa is a serious mental health issue with dire consequences to a persons physical health. VSG is all about getting healthy and improving your physical well being and being your best. I don't see that there are any similarities.

Actually, one of the listed POSSIBLE side effects that I had to sign off on pre surgery was risk for anorexia. I don't see the goal of this surgery as to starve myself, but to only give the body what it needs to be healthy. We SHOULD be able to get in proper nutrition, but not overeat.

I had surgery 11/28 and feel pretty good.

Anesthesiologists appointment tomorrow surgery on December18th on liquid diet until then, having mixed emotions right now, I'm more then happy about the surgery b/c this journey has been long awaited but the reality is... I'm fearful of not seeing my children again :'( my prayers are simple tonight; Father God protect me as I go through this journey help me to indure a little if any pain, let this surgery be a success help me to fully and quickly recover and pls..... God deliver me safely back home to my babies and my love ones.This prayer I pray for everyone who's surgery day is approaching.Amen.

@ nvkeva2 that's funny I do the same thing as well, funny I try to visualize my look as a ... Let's say 6 and my mind is like "could you really do that" lol glad to know that I'm not the alone on this one lol .My surgery is December 18th ready but a little nervous how about you?

Leak test was this morning. I bawled because I was so nausea.
Trying to drink dinner not digging it, in lots of pain from the built up gases. They don't give a gas ex, they want to to just walk around to work it out.
