    Mexico Banders?

So, is it everyones opinion that if you had a Dr. in the States that said they will do your fills and office visits with you even though you went to MX, would you be okay with going to MX for your surgery? I know of a Dr. in Denver that does the lapband for $9900.00 but has only done about 135 since last year. Knowing this would you go to this doctor or would you go to MX still??

    Mexico Banders?

Has anyone seen Dr. Zapata in Monterrey, MEXICO? Do you have and information?
  9. I feel that same way Linda C. I was going to schedule my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Zapata who I have heard is AWSOME, but after reading all the problems of other people, it has made me really scared. Nothing is a guarantee, but I liked to know that I am making the right decision. I am with ya sister.!!!
  10. I want to have the surgery, but am very afraid of the long term problems. I have read so many things of people after 2-3 years having to have the band removed for one reason or another. I was ready to schedule, but now I am on the fence.
  11. FYI to anyone with BCBS wanting to go to Malley....I went to his seminar a week or so ago and they said that they are not taking ANYMORE new patients with BCBS this year. Not real sure why, but what they said is that they are booked through this year for that insurance company.:cry

    Veteran Banders

Are there any people out here that have had it longer than 3 years? What has your experience been?
  13. I am very curious of the # of people that have had to have their bands removed for whatever complications. I am noticing that everyone loves it until about 2 years in and then everything goes down hill from there...Not real sure I want to do this with the little info on long term affects.
  14. I too am struggling with the decision. I am so scared. I am reading and hearing more and more people that have had their bands 4 -7 years now and they are having issues and having the band removed. The issues aren't neccessarily due to the band, but one lady said that she had foot surgery and got an infection and nothing they can do is working so now that her band has erroded because of the infection she has to have it removed...she has had it for 7 years. Others have said that they have had trouble with their esophagas (sp?), this scares me. I am a self pay and I really can't afford alot of bills. I worry about the PBing and slippage and then stretching out my esophaga(sp?). I know where you are coming from. It is a very scary decision.
  15. I know that it takes longer than that to get the passport, I sent in my son's application on Feb. 17th and we still haven't gotten it. The website for Passports says it takes 10 weeks, and we are on week 12!! I already have a passport as I went to Belgium a few years ago. My son and I are going to Croc, Mexico outside of Monterrey for a missions trip in June, so I hope his passport comes soon! ----- Anyone have any comments about Dr. Zapata and the Mexico banding?
