WOW! Thanks so much for info. This new lifestyle is hard enough without sabotage from an unscrupulous company trying to make a quick buck off us!
I know! I was all excited about it at first, then I googled it I was bummed out!

Read this article before eating Dreamfield pasta! It's a scam. http://www.dietdoctor.com/the-dreamfields-pasta-fraud

I am 28 and and 4 days post op as well! I have the same feelings, but I know that this will all be worth it. I just keep thinking about the future. How much healthier and happier I will be once this 115 pound load is off my back. Just keep pushing onward, we will get there!

Things went well! Staying here another night to get some extra rest. Feeling pretty good, except lots of hiccups. Doesn't feel so good. Looking forward to go home and see my husband and my 18 mo old son. Passed the leak test, so I am hoping to not have any side effects! Hope you're all recovering well. We made it!

Hello! This is my first post' date=' I'm getting sleeved on thu in Tijuana. I'm really nervous but also excited. I've had butterflies in my stomach for days. I can't wait to be on the other side of this. I'm 26 and in the last 4-5 years I've gone up to 360 lbs, I remember when I was 180 in high school and thinking I'm never going to let myself get to 200 and now I'm heavier than ever. I'd considered getting surgery for a couple of years but never really looked into it, but seeing my friend go through with it and seeing how awesome she looks and feels about her self, i decided it was time! I've been reading around this forum for a couple of months and I'm so glad i found it! It's great to be able to read so much experiences and info on this. I'm looking forward to be able to share all my accomplishments and read about all of yours. I don't know how to close this so I'll just say, i can't wait! lol thanks for taking the time to read my post, i will write again as soon as i can after surgery. Happy holidays to all![/quote']Good luck. I am also getting sleeved on the 27th. Very nervous and excited as well. Talk soon!

My NUT said to look at the nutrition facts and ingredients. If it has more than 2 grams of sugar but is NOT one of the first five listed ingredients then it's naturally occurring sugar, therefore okay. But like BBQ Sauce for example, first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup..immediate no no. Because its added sugar. But dole 100% juice fruit cup doesn't list sugar in the first 5 ingredients so it's okay. Does that make sense? And of course watch the sugar consumption, but natural sugars in fruits/veggies is better than extra added sugar to things.

I was sleeved in July with Dr. Pop (Poplawski) at Barix in Ypsilanti. He is awesome. I live near Ann Arbor' date=' and just today reached a BMI in the normal range weighing in at 145 from 218 at my highest before surgery, My personal goal is 130-135.I would love to have a local sleeve buddy![/quote']
Hi! I am to be sleeved on 12/27 by Dr. Pop as well! So excited to see someone with the same doc

My date got moved up! It's now December 27th, instead of Jan 15th. I am freaking out!

I also started my process in August. My psych evaluation is what I'm having a really hard time with...my insurance says they cover it and all I have to pay is my copay but when I call the doctors they refer me to' date=' they all say the insurance doesn't cover and want me to pay 450. So, I'm a little frustrated with that right now, I don't know if I should just pay the 450 or continue fighting with the insurance.[/quote']
Goodness! That's a lot of money. Mine wasn't covered, but that's because we haven't met our deductible. But I only have to pay $200..and we have an HSA account, so it wasn't a big deal. I'm sorry you're having trouble. That's a huge chunk of change!
-
Thank you! This is an amazing support system...very inspiring! I'm so glad that I found it! How far into the process are you?
I started my appointments in August, and it moved pretty quickly. I have no other comorbidities other than asthma, but my BMI was between 38-40 and so I think that's why I was approved with the insurance right away. I have already done my psych eval, which seems easy breezy compared to some I've read about. I didn't have to take any crazy tests, she just talked with me for an hour and we discussed my history and etc. She has had bariatric surgery herself, so it made me really comfortable. I have BCBS so they required that and a letter of necessity from my doc before approving. So now I am just waiting until January for the pre op appt and then surgery! How about you?

When I got sleeved' date=' I was 28, and my son was 17 months old. How funny is that? LOL. The night before surgery I let him sleep in my bed and squeezed him tight the whole night. On the way to the hospital, I cried and told my husband that he'd better raise him right, tell him everyday how much I loved both of them, and told him that I'd recorded videos on my phone for both of them. NeedIess to say I over reacted.Since surgery I have more energy to roll around on the floor with him, run around in the park (instead of just sitting and watching him play), and jump on the trampoline. I was always a great mom, but now I'm an awesome mom!
You won't only be doing this for you, you will be doing this for your babies! They need and want an active mommy in their lives.[/quote']
That is crazy!! Thank you for responding, and you are so right! Our babies deserve the best mommy that they can have! I can't wait to be an awesome mom, instead of just a great mom as well!

Oh I know...when I start freaking out about my decision I just remind myself of everything I'll be able to do with her and the good example I'm going I be for her. I need all the support I can get. Haven't really told anyone other than immediate family about the surgery. Don't want to hear negativity.I haven't told anyone other than my mom or husband, so I completely understand! Everyone I have talked to on here so far is super nice. I definitely think this is a great support system. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask!

Hi...I'm very new to this and just starting my wls journey. Just like you I have a little one (she'll be one on 11/27) I'm hoping to get sleeved sometime early 2013, but I often wonder if I'm doing the right thing...
I know what you mean, it's scary! But I just try to remind myself of all the things I will be able to do with my son in the future. Just trying to stay positive, and know that this is will be helpful to all of my family in the long run. Keep in touch, we can support each other!

Hey all, I am getting sleeved in January. I am new here, but do a lot of reading. I was wondering if anyone else is getting sleeved that has a toddler? I know about the risks, but I have around 100lbs to lose..but am really nervous that something will happen and I will leave my son. Anyone else in my position? Thanks in advance.

They were wonderful and took such good care of me. The nurses and aides were angels.
So good to know! They seem great so far, but it's nice to know someone who has been there and been through it!

It went amazing! I will be 4 weeks post op on Thursday, and it's the best thing I've ever done! He put me at ease, and the entire process has been fairly smooth. I recovered quickly, and am so happy! I could just kiss the man!
