  1. Do you start vitamins immediately when you get home from the hospital? I came home yesterday and feel pretty yucky so have been focusing on trying to get water in before worrying about vitamins....
  2. That is what I am afraid of so I am trying to keep sipping...but at 4oz per hour, I don't know how to get it all in!
  3. I am sipping tiny sips, and at the hospital they said it would take me about an hour to get in 4oz...seems to be true, but how do I get my fluids in at that rate?
  4. And was doing great yesterday...walked a lot, etc...they didn't let me have any liquids or ice chips until after my leak test today...and honestly, after the nasty stuff I had to drink for that, I didn't want to...I came home and had about 2 oz of a clear protien drink and 2oz water I have tried to walk but am more sore today and just want to rest. Is it okay to start fresh tomorrow?
  5. I am out and in my room! Already took a walk around...gas pain is bad but doing okay!
  6. What about tomato soup? Is that a milk based soup?
  7. I am able to have those in the first two weeks post op, but not sure what they are??
  8. To go grocery shopping, run errands, drive? I see that the avg time off work seems to be two weeks...how were you feeling week 2?
  9. I started mine today (9 days early!) and have surgery on Monday....ugh!
  10. I am ready and excited! Nervous too, of course!!!
  11. I feel the SAME way! Surgery in one week and am Hmong second thoughts like crazy but continuing pre op diet and going to pre op hospital appointment tomorrow...I want to do it, just don't want to go through it and scared of complications and how I will feel after....
  12. I am also Oct 29th and so nervous! Have done well this week on my pre-op diet but don't feel very well--headaches and body aches, presumably from the withdrawal of all the foods I used to eat! My pre op diet allows for breakfast of an egg and whole grain toast, then a protien shake for lunch, then a serving I protein and a green veggie for dinner...much less restrictive than I have seen others....I go for my pre-op at the hospital on Tuesday!
  13. Do you use a food scale? Measuring cups? I want to make sure I have what I need to measure my foods before surgery!
  14. I cut everything cold turkey...I just found out last Friday that my surgery was scheduled for 10/29, so started Monday cold turkey. I hate taking Tylenol but this headache is killing me!
  15. I am on day 5 of my pre-op diet--luckily for me, it is not liquids only, it is pretty much low carb....but....I have the worst headache! I did give up caffeine too, but I though after 5 days it would be gone? I am getting plenty of fluids, over 80oz of water daily...any other suggestions?
