Pre Op Diet Headache?

I am on day 5 of my pre-op diet--luckily for me, it is not liquids only, it is pretty much low carb....but....I have the worst headache! I did give up caffeine too, but I though after 5 days it would be gone? I am getting plenty of fluids, over 80oz of water daily...any other suggestions?

I'm also on day 5. Surgery 11/5. Did you cut your caffeine too quickly? I went from 1 cup last week to 1/2 cup this week and then I'll cut completely next week. No headaches so far, just hungry! I get a little food also but it's not much.

I cut everything cold turkey...I just found out last Friday that my surgery was scheduled for 10/29, so started Monday cold turkey. I hate taking Tylenol but this headache is killing me!

I thought you weren't supposed to take blood thinners two weeks before surgery??

Tylenol is not a blood thinner and is safe before surgery. You should stay away from NSAIDs. I had a headache for the first week and finally took Tylenol to help. It went away and has not been back since. I hope it gets better for you.
