    Some Reassurance Please!

Hello, I'm just about 4 wks out and am having trouble with constipation, and stomach cramps. But working on getting that under control. Was wondering if you guys feel hungry ever? I am really starting to feel hungry and it is really scaring me! I am eating soft solid foods, tonight I ate about 21/2 oz of meatloaf and was so full I thought I would puke. But 3 hours later I feel hungry, just like I used to before surgery. Will this continue?

    Weekly Miralax Date

I sure hope so, but of course I am so worried about over eating that maybe it is a good thing I get stomach cramps because then I just stop eating. How long ago did you have your sleeve?

    Weekly Miralax Date

I am so glad I found this forum. I know it is a horrible subject, but I have been having a lot of problems like some of you. I am almost 4wks post op and have gone about two times since surgery. I was taking 2 colace in the morning and 2 at night....nothing happening. Then I started getting very nauseated, and with every bite of food horrible stomach cramps. I went 7 days without a BM and finally called dr. He said take 1 tablespoon of Milk of Mag and drink 2 glasses of Water. Nothing happened, called him back same instructions except this time add Metamucil 3x a day....tiny BM, nothing to write home about. Still feeling very bloated, and stomach cramps with just about any food. Still taking the metamucil (expect switched to Benefiber) 3x a day, and no relief! Do you guys think that the miralax is better than the milk of mag? Milk of mag a stimulant, so surgeon really not wanting me to take. Also have not lost one pound in the last 9 days. Is that normal????? Help, I am feeling so frustrated. I have been trying to eat so healthy, exercise and drinking tons of water. Is it normal to feel cramping while you are eating? Would appreciate any suggestions or help.

Advancing Post Op Diet Too Quickly?

I wonder how everyone has been tolerating their soft foods. They sound great! I have another 6 days of full liquids. My doctor also says once I start the soft foods no more liquid protein shakes unless I cant tolerate soft foods. He really stresses the whole don't drink your foods, because you will be hungry more often. Where any of you guys hungry during you liquid phases? I feel like I am, but I'm not sure what I'm feeling, if its just head hungry or real hungry. I'm am so terrified that I am going to be hungry and overeat during my soft foods and maintenance phases. I have friends that have had this and they say they are always hungry. I think it is because they eat the wrong things. At least that is what I am hoping. How about you guys, are you hungry or just head hungry?

Advancing Post Op Diet Too Quickly?

It is so crazy how many different food plans there are after post op. I was sleeved 10/9/12, I am on full liquids for 2 weeks. Mostly it is just pureed foods and water. Starting week 3 I eat "soft" foods for 4 weeks. Soft foods must be what you guys are calling mushy foods. I know I can very soft vegies, and soft meats like fish and even pot roast. My Dr. says your fork has to be able to mush it down. Have never heard of the "if you have to eat it with a fork it's too thick". That's pretty scary! I hope I can tolerate the soft foods because I was on liquid diet 2 weeks pre-op and now liquids for 2 weeks post op, so I am ready to chew something!
  6. 8 days post op sleeve. Wish my head hunger would go away!
