    Pre-op weight 220lbs or under

Im 6 days post op (surgery weight 222 on Dec 5) and I can get down 2 GNC Lean shakes (25 grams Protein each), 1 egg pureed (6 protein) and 2 ounces of buffalo chicken puree which has protein but Im not sure how much. I can easily get down my 64 ounces of Water. Had my 1 week check up today and Im down to 216. They cleared me for puree so I had the egg and buffalo chicken puree. A different flavor was exactly what I needed. 6 pounds in one week, Ill take it.

  4. No regrets at all! Started my journey June 3rd at 242 and was sleeved Dec 5th. Tomorrow Im one week post op and at 219. No complications, water and full liquids are going down perfect. Minimal pain and only had nauseau in the hospital the first 2 days. I get better every day. Love my sleeve. I cant wait to see what the rest of my journey has in store for me.

    Two Days Post-Op

I had single incision as well and Ive had my gall bladder out and had multiple incisions so I know the difference and its big. My incision really didnt hurt. It was more the soreness in the actual tummy. No bruising, not even from the blood thinner shots that they warned me might bruise me.

    12/5/12

I was also sleeved on 12/5. I got home yesterday evening. I was going to go nuts if I had to spend one more night in the hospital. Everything was getting to me. The bed, the smells, the every 2 - 4 hour wake ups for vitals or meds or whatever. No matter who you are, I think we all heal best at home but of course we need the professionals watching us for a matter of time. Congrats on being home. I know how excited you are. Take it slow and remember to sip sip sip all day long. I drink out of a 1 ounce little cup so I can track how many ounces Im taking in. For me personally, warm liquids go down much much better for me than cold so if you are getting that bad pain at the top of the tummy, try warm liquids, it doesnt seem to hurt me as much. For the gas pains, make sure to walk and periodically lift your arms over your head. Itll help release trapped gasses. I also use gas-ex strips. I used my first one about an hour ago and it really helped. Congrats to the both of us! We are on the loser's bench now

    Sleep apnea

Good Luck! You can do it. To drop those pounds, try just eating protein. It will also help you for the future when your life will be all about protein. Im post op 3 days and have severe sleep apnea (58) too. I resisted my CPAP at first but after I got used to it, I loved it and slept sooo good. Youll have more energy and that alone will help you drop a few pounds. Keep your eye on the prize!

    Last Meal Before Pre-Op Diet

I had a fun food funeral. I ate all my favorites for about a week. The best bbq chicken pizza in town, ribs, chinese, sushi...I got it all out of my system just in case after 3 or so months I cant ever tolerate it again. I covered all the basis lol. Oh and some ice cream from Culvers. But Ive been on liquid for the past 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds so I already dont miss those foods.

    Sleeve Date Dec 5Th

Ive been on liquids for the past 2 weeks (lost 10 pounds) and am on Clear Liquids only today. Oh and the magnesium citrate. I drank the whole bottle a little bit ago. Not bad if you chill it and pour it over ice then drink as fast as you can with a straw.
  14. Holy cheese, surgery is tomorrow. Its finally here!!!

    Unjury Chicken Broth....

I just finished my first big container of the Unjury chicken broth. I love love love it! I ordered 2 more containers because I know it will be a go-to post op. Its so yummy. You can do other things with it too after surgery and when you can eat food again. They have recipes on their site. I think Ill go have some

    Smokers Question....

Former smoker here. I dont miss it at all. I never thought I would say that but now when I see people smoking I dont feel bad that I cant have one, I feel bad that they smoke and are doing all that harm to themselves. After surgery you will become way more health conscious (hopefully) and you may realize how bad it is for you. It is so freeing not to be dependent on them anymore.

    Any December Sleeves?

I too find the Isopure icky and can pretty much tolerate all kinds of strange tasting things. I put a bottle of the grape in the freezer last night and it turned into a slushie and guess what??? It still sucked lol. I tossed it. It has this strange aftertaste. Maybe Ill try freezing them all the way like you suggested and see if that doesnt take the ick out.

    Fun And Maybe Some Laughs

I wont miss going to the big girl store for clothes. I wont miss wearing orthotic shoes for my planters. I wont miss sweating all the time. I wont miss acting like a contortionist to shave my legs. I wont miss worrying if Im going to break a lawn chair. There's so much more but Ill stop now...lol. Im looking forward to wearing cute stylish clothes from the normal girl store. Im looking forward to doing yoga and not cutting of my air supply. Im looking forward to making the inner thighs of my jeans last as long as the rest of the jeans. Im looking forward to being able to get my freak on with my hubby easier Im looking forward to weighing less than my husband. There are hundreds and hundreds of things to not miss and just as many things to look forward to.

    "challenges

Im on my 14 day preop diet and am on day 7 right? We were watching Survivor last night and they were bidding on foods like fried chicken, pancakes, yummy sandwiches and here I am starving lol. My mouth was literally watering. I would have mugged someone for a sandwich last night but I stayed strong and had a protein shake. Oh and this morning at work someone toasted up some delicious smelling cinnamon raisin toast. They almost got mugged. Just sayin'.
