What payment methods do RAC take for deposit? Thanks!- Dr. Garcia/ Any Feb 2013 Sleevers Want To Buddy Up?
How do I PM you?- Dr. Garcia/ Any Feb 2013 Sleevers Want To Buddy Up?
We can be sleeve buddies! I am going in March during my Spring Break.- Dr. Garcia/ Any Feb 2013 Sleevers Want To Buddy Up?
Hey Sade, I am also going to be going alone...I don't want to, but I will. I am in school, so I plan on having my surgery during our Spring Break week (March 10).- What Do You Think?
You can't try and give the Lord a deadline...you will ALWAYS set yourself up for failure! And remember that the same thing that you prayed to our Lord about, Satan hears it as well. Satan wants us to be discouraged, feeling hopeless, and defeated (that's what's going to happen if you stay overweight), but rebuke that spirit and walk into that blessing that the Lord has for you. All you need is a date...and then you will be on to a longer, healthier life! May God give you a peace about your surgery!- Compliments/ Insults
It saddens me that you feel that way and had to experience that....you are VERY beautiful. But I know that even though you may receive plenty of compliments it does not change how you feel and see yourself. The culprit are the comments you receive at a very early age from your father. Have you thought about going to counseling to help you deal with the way you see yourself?- Compliments/ Insults
Thanks! I don't even talk to her about it anymore. We stay in different states so when she does see me (I visit her family at least twice a year), it will definitely be LESS! My boyfriend is super supportive...he's helping my pay for it (self pay in Mexico). But I wish I could talk to my sister and she'd understand considering how close we are. My boyfriend eats however and whatever he wants and stays muscular lean...no one who really understands what I am going through...glad I have VST!- Need To Vent
Connie3 I pray and wish you the best of luck! Sometimes we have to do what we have to do. And it could be that you husband wish for you to stay the same as you are because as your body decrease, your confidence/ self esteem will increase.- Compliments/ Insults
Definitely feels like backhanded compliments! "Drinking backing grease" lol I hate it when people ask me if I have anything to snack on and are pleasantly surprised when I am like no, I do not carry a glove compartment full of little Debbie Snacks and I do not have quarter pounders and fries in my purse! Love seeing their reaction.- Compliments/ Insults
You are so right, we are expected to deal with it. Society believes that they can say anything to us because it's our fault, right?? Well they are wrong...dead wrong! No one just wake up one morning and be like, "Hey, you know what I am going to eat everything in sight...all of the fat and its trimmings!" When I decided to have surgery, I confided in my sister and expressed how I wanted her to be with me when I did it (we are really close). Well you can imagine did not go how I expected it to go. I have struggled with weigh all my life...have always been bigger than others. Well her response was why did I want to go and why can't I just discipline myself enough and stay with a workout plan while being on a low calorie diet...losing 1-2 pds a week? I got heated as the conversation continued to go downhill from that point and then stated to her that I pray that she never gets overweight or obese. And than she replied, "Oh, I would NEVER let myself get THAT BIG!" lol shoot me where I stand. I can definitely see the jealousy...never thought about it that way. And people will never be satisfied about how we look...it will always be something. You are getting too small... I think I will say... "Don't hate, appreciate the finer things!" And wait for their reaction. haha- Compliments/ Insults
It's funny and not at the same time. We could definitely be reading more into the comment than necessary, but I don't really think so because when you hear someone compliment a smaller person...it just sounds different. I have never been much of a dater or had too many boyfriends. And one family gathering another person had asked me why such a pretty lady different have one and my grandmother (she had a little too much to drink) proceeds to answer for me and say because she has a problem with her weight. How did she come to that conclusion? Like why couldn't me loving being single and traveling be the truth. Plus I don't take everyone I meet over to chat with my family.- Compliments/ Insults
You do have a point in regard to what is acceptable in the work place to say, but why can't people just say you are pretty and leave it at that. Which brings me to another saying... You are pretty for a big girl. LOL, wth When I was younger, I would really get upset. Now I just say thanks and keep on going. I wonder when I lose my excess weight if people will say, you have a pretty face for a small person...lol probably not.- Compliments/ Insults
Oh, I have heard it from older women as well. LOL They think they can say anything and it be okay.- I Have Made It To Day Seven Of The Pre Op Diet...
That is right, keep your eyes on the prize!- Compliments/ Insults
To pick up a few extra hours for Christmas, I worked in a department that I do not work in on my normal work days. Soooo of course I am a new face and to make time pass, this young gentleman and I started chatting about any and everything. Well into the conversation, he makes the comment.. "you have a cute face." Moving on to the next day, an older gentleman from the same department tells me "you have a really pretty face" and since then every time he sees me he calls me "lady with the pretty face." Now to get on to my rant...hehe Why can't people just compliment you, instead of specifying what exactly they are complimenting. For me, instead of hearing the supposed compliment, I hear an insult as well. I know I am not the only one that have experienced this. What are some compliments/ insults that you received while you were bigger that could have been taken as an insult? I will list a few. They say.... I hear(interpret).... You have a pretty face. Your body is busted. You dress nice, considering your size. I interpret: Big people cannot dress. Did HE just try and talk to your? I interpret: Why isn't he interested in me, I'm smaller? Girl, you better take what you can get! I interpret: Being big makes me not have a preference??- Almost 3 Months Out - 50Lbs Gone! My Pics
You look amazing. Keep up the good work!- Does Anyone Else Hate Eating?
I have not been sleeved yet, but it sounds pretty depressing reading the love-hate relationship with food. We all loved food that is why we had to use this as an alternative...I guess I am already mourning food and I have not even had my surgery yet. We cannot do anything or attend any function without food being involved..(slow breaths) I can do this...I have to.- Lookin For Buddys
That is really good! I have not been sleeved yet..the day cannot come soon enough. How has it been? I have a feeling I may mourn food. From what I am reading, all your sleeve is able to tolerate is about 1/4 of a cup...not very much at all. wont be able to enjoy a steak anymore.- Why Lie?!?!
Loved it! You had me rolling!- Why Lie?!?!
Because she lost well over 100 pds in 4/5 months and her body had not caught up to it yet.- Why Lie?!?!
Those are my sentiments as well! As a society, we boast about EVERYTHING in life whether it's our child scoring a touch down in a football game, the new hot item we just purchased, or something as simple as the fabulous meal we cooked. Yet when it comes to all things weightloss or especially weightloss surgery we take to being more reserved about it. Just because person A may not agree with what I did or the method of weight loss I chose to do...get over it because in the end you do not define who I am and your opinion is just that an opinion. Your reply was definitely inspiring...it is about being a healthier, better you and if I can just help 1 person achieve a longer life through surgery, than I am in it.- Why Lie?!?!
@Readytolose I definitely understand the negativity part, especially when it comes from people who probably have never had a weight issue. In casual conversation with a person who is obese and different methods of losing weight came up, would you tell them that you have had weightloss surgery if they were struggling with their weight or would you tell them to reduce their calorie intake (and have them believe that they could achieve the same amount of weighloss in short timeframe)?- Almost Six Months* -90 Lbs/pics
Absolutely beautiful and great results..keep up the work!- Friends Could Be So Negative!
I can see why you were upset. A time and a place exist for EVERYTHING. Your friend was out of line for that because their is a proper way to talk to someone about something so sensitive as weight and weight loss surgery. People really think it is that easier...it's not! - Dr. Garcia/ Any Feb 2013 Sleevers Want To Buddy Up?
