I'm glad you were finally approved but you kept persevering and at the long run it worked you. Did you get approved today also? My surgeon is going to be Dr. Forrester he was referred to me by a co-worker. Also I think they are having surgeries on the 31st; Maybe you can get in on that date.

I have Aetna too but my specific policy requires the 6 month. I too go to NJBC.

I'm not sure in your case but I looked at the clinical policies for weight loss surgeries in the Aetna website and it gave me good information. I suggest you check it out. My navigator was the one that told me I could do the 90 days. Did you call Aetna to ask if you can do the 90 Days. You will need to have 2 year weigh loss history in order for them to approve and about four visits with the bariatric office and also Psychiatric eval.

I did the 90 days. And I really stressing Because paperwork was put in on December 14.

I'm super excited Aetna approved me in five days. I was so nervous because my surgery date is scheduled for December 26. My navigator did a great job. Thank you Tira of NJBC.

Went to my Dr. appointment yesterday and was scheduled for December 26 awaiting for approval from my Ins. Aetna. Still have one more Dr. Visit left on December 14th. Everything is becoming so real now. I have so much planning to do. And He also told me I have to take additioanal Vitamins before my surgery. I don't want to become overwhelmed but I can't help it. Very excited and nervous at the same time.

Still have to more doctor visits left. And of course insurance approval. I am so hoping to have it done by middle of December.

Hi. Yes I have to wait 90 days also have a weight history from my pcp for the previous two years & Psyc eval. At least four visits with the bariatric surgeon, plus all bloodwork, EKG and chest x ray.

Why are they waiting so long? Is this when your requirements are completed? If not can they enter you paperwork with a dummy date of surgery now and change the date of surgery after you have an approval' date=' this is what my surgeons office is doing. My sx date is 12/12... They submited to Horizon BCBS on Monday with a dummy date of sx as 11/7... I have called my insurance and there is a pending approval with authorization number but it is just in the final stages of medical review![/quote']

I have to wait 90 days per my ins Aetna. I have done all of my testing already. Still need a few dr visits before the 90 days. I'm just hoping it gets approved.

Hi this is Tony I don't have a definite December day yet; but they are looking to schedule for December 26.

Very nervous since they are putting paper work to ins on Dec 14th. Cutting it very close.
