  1. One good thing about it is, you can claim the expenses on your income tax. It's a medical expense that you're paying out of pocket (even your deductible if insurance pays), and you can claim your mileage to the doctor for pre & post-op visits, fills, etc. You can also claim your airfare (for those of us who go out of the country to have it done) and any lodging fees you might have to pay. You may want to check on having it done in Mexico too, the prices are cheaper and care is still excellent!
  2. I too had to convince my husband that this was a good thing, but it took him seeing my mother's improvement to make him a believer. He now supports my decision wholly and without quam....he even came up with the entire amount for the surgery (because our insurance won't pay). He loves me, and sees it as beneficial for him too.
  3. Hi Haydee! I am scheduled to be banded in Monterrey Mexico by Dr. Zapata also. I am nervous, but have heard great things about him and the facilities. I can't wait to hear of your progress! Hope all is well. Marlynn Creel
  4. hey kat, can you send me those instructions too? I for the life of me cannot get the link uploaded....it keeps telling me "invalid file" and I'm copying and pasting the link from the website.
  5. hey, how did you get your tickers on there? I have mine made out, but can't figure out how to get them here.
  6. I'm new to all this jazz.....Can someone please tell me how you get all the tickers and signatures onto your threads and posts? I've got them made, just can't figure out how to get them here! Ugh!!!
  7. I had it expedited, and they told me it should only take 3 weeks which would put it here by May 29th or 30th. Pray it gets here by then....it would just kill me to have to put this off.
  8. Kelli, I don't know if makes you feel any better or not, but I am 28yrs old myself and weigh 210lbs. I stand 5'7" with a BMI of 33. I am having this surgery for many reasons...the main one being my joints. My feet and ankles swell terribly and I have some bad veins in my Rt leg. But one other reason is that I AM 28 and would like to act, feel, and dress like someone that age and not like I'm an old lady. I've struggled with the yo-yoing of dieting for at least 10 yrs and know that I don't have the will-power needed to keep it off without something like this. I hope this helps you with your decision...only you know what's right for you.
  9. Hi all, My name is Marlynn and I am 28 yrs and going to be banded in Monterrey, Mexico on June 7th!!! I am SO excited...I get to break free from the fat shell I've been bonded to most my life! I sent off all of my passport information yesterday, making travel arrangements today, and paying full balance in 3 more days! Luckily I have a husband who would do most anything for me, and has given me the money to do this without having to finance anything...thank God. Otherwise, I'd be waiting for school loans to be paid off. Anyway, congratulations to all that have had this procedure, and good luck to the ones going to have it done! I look forward to hearing from some of you.
