    November Sleevesters?

Hi everyone! I was sleeved November 1st. My highest weight was 261- no pre obs diet. I have lost 82 obs and 22% body fat. I am at normal BMI and all my blood work is perfect! I work out intensely 5 days a week. Because of that, I have had to up my food intake.....I stick to good carbs- sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinona....eat a lot of eggs, turkey, chicken...I try to stay away from dairy as much as possible. I still do not eat red meat. For me exercise has been a huge part of my journey- it has helped my body really change! There are slider foods for me....I have to be careful....popcorn and rice cakes are the main ones. I defintely still don't drink enough water- it is REALLY hard getting Water down. Plus I still can't eat and drink at the same time. I was a size 20 and am now a size 10 on bottom and 12 on top. My issue is now a little extra skin (under arms and stomach)- but I am working each day on trying to lose that- I really don't want to rely on cosemtic surgery for anything. I want to lose about 15 more lbs and just continue to gain muscle and strength. I have registered for the Spartan Race- so that is a new goal for me. Keep at it- I know for me - the BEST decision ever!

    November Sleevesters?

Hi November sleevers..... Figured I give my update. Sleeved Nov 1 2012.... Best decision of my life.... Started at 260.... I am now 190... The last month has been very very slow but I'm losing inches and fat percentage. I work out hard 5 days a week ( burning between 500 and 700 calories). Weight training is essential! I eat about 1100 to 1200 calories a day and really limit my carbs . I don't drink enough water which I know is not good and would probably help me speed things up a bit more... Bit I'm working on it. My surgeon is awesome and is pleased with everything ( my blood work is perfect, my sleep apnea is gone , and my blood pressure is normal). He reminds me constantly that it is not a race but rather a journey. Remember this is for life so don't get discouraged. Keep at it!

What are your favorite protein bars?

Atkins bars..... Be careful of bars being too high in sugar and carbs. Atkins had the least of these from what I have found.

    Halloween Sleevers

Hi! I was Nov 1 and what works for me is eggs. I scramble it to pieces ... Lots of protein in eggs too! Egg drop soup is good too. I also just tried mash potatoes - they r " heavy" so only two teaspoons or so I have. Was suppose to wait till end of week 3. , but I tried earlier.
  9. I was sleeved November 1st- lost 26 llbs in two weeks...now I am stalling? Really? What a way to kill my momemtuum? I read a lot of different things about why people stall but usually it is a few months out? Could it be b/c I am not getting enough protein? Would love to hear....thanks!

    Post Op Portion Control?

3 weeks post obs, I would maybe pass on the crackers....you want to make sure that protein stays in. As others have mentioned, the full feeling definitely is in the chest. I can still only get barely get 3 oz yougurt in one sitting....I am just about 3 weeks out post surgery. Chewing is important too....I tried scambled eggs this week.... really need to chew them well. Hope it gets better.
  13. I use Body by VI....it is a cake batter flavor so it goes well with just about anything. I am 1.5 weeks out...it is the only one that I found agreed with me (many taste way too sweet). Good luck!
