PetraLuxor got a reaction from sheabh in Atlanta, Georgia
    Hi Guys,
Thought it was about time that I checked in. I'm 10 days out from my Nov. 23rd surgery with Dr. Ponce in Mexico. All went well. Dr. Ponce and his staff were kind and professional. My coordinator, Trish, was amazing. I especially appreciated her prayers for me during the two times I felt extremely sick. I had been given an antibiotic that didn't agree with me. Dr. Ponce changed the med and I was all good after that.
When I got back home, though, my main incision site was extremely red and painful so just to be on the safe side, I went to see a doctor who put me on a double dose of antibiotics. I'm all better now.
I haven't been very hungry at all since surgery. And, as everyone says, it's quite difficult to get in all the liquids throughout the day. I just try to get in what I can. Already down 15 pounds... obviously because I can't eat much of anything. Will be happy to answer questions, especially for any Georgia people heading to Mexico.

    Salam Marwa,
Ahlan wa sahlan! Welcome to the group. Don't worry about your English. I am an American living in Lebanon, I am sure that I give the locals plenty of laughs with my "wonderful" Arabic lol
16 kilos in a month and a half if great! Have you started exercising? It might be difficult if you just moved to London. But go out and explore your new surroundings and you will be exercising at the same time

    Salaam Ladies!!
I was sleeved on 12-12-12. What a date to remember. I'm from Syria - but currently live in southern California.
Not doing well with my liquid intake - find it hard to drink more than 8 oz of Water a day and about 4 oz of shake. It sucks watching everyone enjoying dinner and you know us Arabs - its a feast every night :-)
    Love this post!!!

For those of you who are a few years post surgery, how are your scars looking? Anyone out there who have scars that have faded so well that they aren't even noticeable? Thanks!

Reading through this thread, it was difficult to tell how long you stayed to recoup. How long did you stay and where? I saw it was on Rosario Beach. Was this a special recoup facility? I'm asking because I may plan to have a TT and BL this summer. Still researching doctors. But I really would like to stay until drains are out. I'm a teacher and will be off work during the summer so I could take the time to stay. Really, I guess it would depend on how much it would cost to stay there 3 weeks or more. Any info you could provide would be most appreciated.

Yep, have to agree 100% on this. Trish can't be beat when it comes to cordinators. Dr Ponce n staff are excellent. Good luck!
When you narrow it down be sure to talk personally with several patients from the docs you're considering.

PetraLuxor reacted to @RealScoobyDoo in Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
I'm only a little over a week out, and I don't think I'll have any regrets. What I am struggling with, though, is to try to understand why I couldn't do it without the surgery? I'm pretty disappointed in myself....why couldn't I exercise? Or limit my portions? Or drive by a fast food joint and not go through the drive through?
I'm confident that after 6 months I'll be able to have a little of anything, so I'm not really mourning food or the rediculous huge portions I had before. But I'm just disappointed in myself for having to have chosen surgery.

Breast lift/breast reduction. My results have been fabulous! I will be going back in the fall to Dr Fuentes to have my thighs done, they are a saggy mess still. If I remember correctly my cost was around 7000 for everything but you will have to email him pics to get a quote. both him and his staff could not have been better, the nicest people ever and his facility was super clean modern and new. You will love him!

Just wondering, since it's been awhile how you feel about your results and if you would recommend this dr. I'm doing research for mine and it's a daunting task. I'm also curious about the cost. Thanks.

PetraLuxor got a reaction from Polliwog42 in Has anyone used Dr. Jaime Ponce DeLeon
Oh yes. I was sleeved by Dr. Ponce on Nov. 23, 2012. It was a great experience other than the gas pains! Trish was wonderful. She's a woman of great faith. My gas pains were exceptionally bad because I can't burp so the gas just wouldn't come out. At one point I was in tears and she prayed for me out loud it Spanish while rubbing my forehead to comfort me. I was so thankful for her compassion. There's also a female doctor at the hospital that you will see/ meet who was sleeved by Dr. Ponce. Can't remember her name. You will be in great hands!

Well folks, I had my surgery. My first question when I woke up was was the surgery over. When he told me yes, my next thought was damn, I was going to change my mind!
But all went well. The first night was HELL! Not sure that I was fully prepared for how much pain I would be in. It was the longest night of my life. So don't plan to sleep much that first night. The nurses kept me with pain meds though. The biggest problem is finding a comfortable position to sleep with that damn drain. I prefer to sleep on my sides and it's impossible to do with that drain pulling on you. I didn't have much gas pain until the first day at the hotel. Walking definitely helped. Now I'm just a little sore from the incisions. Everyone at the hospital was great. Dr. Luna has an amazing bedside manner, and he isn't bad to look at either. Melissa is super sweet, as is Rosie. The hospital was clean and safe, but don't expect Cedars Sinai. It's not the Ritz, but it gets the job done. The Marriott was nice and also safe. The staff at the hotel is wonderful, although it took forever for our room to be ready. By day two at the hotel, I felt good enough to do some BRIEF shopping. We took a cab to Revolution and walked around for about an hour to get souvenirs. After that I was pretty tired, so we came back to the hotel for broth. It was ok, but not as great as everyone makes it out to be. I think people are just so excited to eat, that they think it's that awesome. I'm so not looking forward to the long flight back today, but I am very ready to get home!

Haha, I did this quite a bit. My nurses lived in my room pretty much, but never did anything. I unhooked myself from the machines and did everything on my own, didn't wanna bother them and my EMT training from years back came in handy. Come to think of it though, I should have asked for a sponge bath since my insurance company was paying for it, and one of the nurses was smoking hot.
