I will never understand why people are so concerned with who other people are telling about this surgery. I mean, who gives a hoot? If you want to tell people, great! If you don't, who cares?!? Why are they being called a liar? If you had surgery to fix your hemorrhoids, would you tell everyone? Good for you!

First of all, you're gorgeous and congrats on the weight loss! I too went from a 24 to a loose 18/tight 16. I bought jeans at old navy when they had a sale and have been wearing more dresses. Dresses seem to last longer as you lose weight, they still look ok. I haven't hit up goodwill yet but will. Go shopping and get a few things that make you feel amazing! I love shopping now because clothes fit so much better now!

I've been stalled on the scale for a month! I've lost a pant size though and I've never been this size in my adult life. So, the number on the scale can kiss my behind! I am so thrilled with my success so far!

Whether or not you're done losing weight is up to you not the sleeve! You got this! I'm 3 years out. Last year I was in nursing school and gained 15 pounds....... yikes!!!! After I graduated, I got back to eating Protein and veggies only, drinking 64 oz of Water daily, and hitting up the gym 3-4 days a week. Those 15 pounds left in just 2 months and they are never coming back!!

Oh man I hate it too!!!! I have a gym membership that I use maybe twice a month. But, I always park in the back when I go to work or stores, I use the stairs several times a day, and I'm a nurse so I get my 10,000 steps a day. I found Yoga by Adrienne on YouTube and she has a two 30 day challenges. I love it! I started for the stress relief. Not only are my moods better but now I have muscle tone and flexibility. I love it and it's the perfect end to my hectic days! The key is just finding something you enjoy doing.

Of course you're relevant! You provide such knowledge and experience that is needed for those who want the truth. I'm 3 years out but haven't logged in for a year or more due to all the useless bickering. BUT for those truly seeking answers, people like you are valued. There are a lot of people who just read and don't post. I'm sure you've helped more people than you know.

I agree with Rev. Laura, you are more in tune with the meaning of all of this I believe. You are in no way more fucked up than anyone, you are just one of the few that are bringing the darkness into the light. I personally think that's what will make you successful in the long run. Not only that but you are helping others along the way. You admit you don't know it all but you open up the conversation to important issues. That's what I and many others admire about you. Your threads have hundreds of responses from people who have similar issues.

Welp, in my defense, I was making jokes about a straw causing one to gain 50 pounds. Not people who have real physical side effects. Plus, I was making jokes to defend the OP against posters implying she's a moron for even thinking about drinking from a straw.
Only the gool Lord up above can shame me!!!! Can I get an amen?!?......no? .....okay......haha

And I'd like to know the science behind drinking from a straw causing your stomach to stretch. I just can't see any correlation between the two.

Your friend is ignorant and selfish. Bottom line.
As for you, you deserve better friends. Congratulations on taking control of YOUR life. I'm so happy for you. Be excited! Good luck with everything! Don't give the toxic people any more of your time and emotions.

Sounds like you are off to a good start! A few of us here started over a year ago.... and did pretty well getting off regain, or getting to goal. We are seeing some slippage, but we have stopped using the principles as strongly as in the beginning. I am now 7-8 pounds over my goal, and working to get it back off. After two weeks of doing fasts twice a week, and doing everything else as I did the first time, I am not losing, however, I have not given up, and know stalls all too well, so there ya go. I do like the 5:2.

Hey guys and gals! I decided to give the 5:2 a try! After nursing school and the holidays, I've managed to put on 15 pounds and I feel like I've put on 50. My goal is to lose those 15 plus another 20 maybe. Yesterday was my first fast and it was hard and empowering at the same time. I drank tons of Water which I have been having a terrible time doing since surgery over two years ago. At around 3pm I ate 6 cherry tomatoes (13 calories) and around 6:30 I had seafood spaghetti (400 calories). Plus the milk in my coffee, I ended the day at 492 calories.
I think waiting until the end of the day to eat really helped me get through my evening workout and to sleep without being hungry. I plan to do Monday and Friday because my husband works those nights.
How is everyone doing? Are there any long term success stories? Is this maintainable? What is your fast day routine?

Right now I'm watching Call The Midwife and Peaky Blinders. I agree, grab the box of tissues for Call The Midwife! If you're into dark, slightly inappropriate, and disturbing entertainment.....Black Mirror is probably the best show I've ever seen. There's only six shows and it's like a modern day Twilight Zone that explores the possibilities of technology and human behavior.
