  1. I don't feel full until a few minutes after I'm done eating so I usually stop if it takes longer than 20 minutes. Then my fullness kicks in. With some foods I get full quicker. Cottage cheese is probably just easier on your stomach.
  2. Happened to me too! I'm 4 weeks out and still haven't started yet.
  3. I didn't lose any weight the first week, so I'd say you're doing pretty good!
  4. 50 pounds is freaking amazing! Yes it's normal!
  5. Anyone get sleeved in MX and have follow ups in Houston? One of my incisions have opened about a half inch wide and a fourth inch deep. My pcp won't look at it and advised me to go to ER. I don't want to pay to go the ER if I don't have to!
  6. Yesterday I ate between 750 and 800 calories and had 85 grams of protein....when I woke up today I lost 4 pounds! My week and a half stall is over I hope! How many calories should be consumed at a month out?
  7. We all know there is nothing easy about this surgery! People are so ignorant and feel their negative opinions matter. It's usually people who have never had weight issues or are extremely jealous! I was too excited to keep it to myself but I wish I had. Especially since I went to MX to get it done. Everyone's got an opinion!
  8. People use him every day! For some reason people on this forum don't. Go to gastric sleeve dot com and you'll find lots who have gone to him!
  9. My friend started losing hair 11 months out. After I had my first son, my hair didn't start falling out after 11 months too. With any surgery you have the risk of losing hair because your body chemistry is all messed up. It does grow back but the texture may change as well. Just take very good care of it and take your vitamins to slow the loss and speed the growth.
  10. Well I guess it's true what everone says about the third week! I've gained one pound over the last week and the scale hasn't moved since! I'm ok with that. I've lost 21 pounds and I'll be 4 weeks out on Saturday. Throughout my adult life I've lost 50-60 pounds and gained it all back 4 times. I don't eat unhealthy never eat fast food, only drink water, and mostly only cook at home. My problem was I had an enormous appetite! I could eat like a football player! I guess with this surgery I'm not expecting to lose all my weight overnight. Even though it sucks after all we've been through going through with a major surgery! Haha. I'm glad I've found the support from the people on this site!
  11. How far out are you? I'm on pureed stage and have a soy Protein Powder I bought at target. It has a slight wheat flavor and I usually add a scoop to everything I puree. If you add spices you can't really taste it. I don't have a nut, so I hope I'm not taking in too many calories too soon. My struggle is getting in the protein without over doing it on calories. It's really hard when we can only eat such small amounts to get the protein from food.
  12. I don't see how anyone gets under 600 with getting all your protein in. I'm 3 weeks out and am at 600-700 calories a day. That's with eating high protein food and milk and I still only get about 60-70 g of protein.
  13. I felt totally normal after 3 weeks. If I had a desk job I probably could have handled going back to work after a week. It all depends on how well you recover. Everyone's recovery is so different. Please don't get the lap band. I have met several people who have had it done and none were successful. I'm not saying nobody is successful with the lap band, I just haven't met anyone who was. Plus just having that foreign thing in your body is just weird to me!
  14. Me! I'm in a stall right now. I didn't even think about being because of pureed foods but it did start when I started them I'm 3 weeks out and I have gained one pound in the last five days!
  15. I've had a lot of drainage too! I guess its normal.
  16. I have read it absorbs faster but can't find info on absorbing better. I had my surgery in MX and don't have a Nutritionist. Just wondering if it's true. Weird there's no info online about that.
  17. A lot of people on the forum say isolate absorbs better than the blend, but I can't find any info online about that. Where did this info come from? I'd like to read about it. Thanks!
  18. I can tell you from experience that being obese and pregnant is hard! With both pregnancies I had high blood pressure and got over 300 pounds I was extremely depressed after my first one because I wad so heavy and I decided to get the surgery 7 weeks after my second child and I feel amazing! Both of my sons were born early and were very small but healthy thank God! I'd recommend getting healthy first.
  19. You may want to think about cutting it. With it being long, the weight pulls it down and all the styling factors don't help. I lost a lot of hair after having a baby and unfortunately cutting my hair short helped. I'll probably have to do that again because I just had another baby and the sleeve. My hair is doomed!
  20. Thanks to everyone for the support! Just thought I'd update. Since surgery, my husband has been great! I think he was super scared about me going to MX and having surgery and blamed money instead of expressing emotions. When I came home his attitude totally changed. And now that I'm 23 pounds down, he can't keep his hands off of me and compliments me all the time! I'm so happy I stood my ground and went ahead with the surgery. I was so serious about this that I probably would have left him if he gave me an ultimatum.
  21. I'm only 23 pounds down and my husband can't keep his hands off me!
  22. I'm 3 weeks out today and today was the first day I didn't feel hungry. I was getting worried too.
  23. It's not deep just open and its freaking me out! No sign of infection.
  24. One of my incisions has opened! It's not oozing or anything but it's a hole. Should I leave it alone? If I use steri strips now will it trap in bacteria? I've been sleeved for three weeks and it was closed covered by a scab. It just opened a few days ago.
