  1. Bklyn, I understand exactly what you're saying. Even though this wasn't rape, it was a claim of inappropriate behavior. She retracted her claim but I believe it was due to shame, fear, and probably guilt for risking this man's career. I've never been in a situation like this but I could imagine this is a prime example of why more women don't come forward. Fear of being further shamed and being deemed as a s1ut! It's really sad. I was beaten by a guy I dated. ....I was talked into going to the police ( I didn't want to because I'd feel bad for getting him arrested even though he deserved it). The police pretty much laughed at me and made me feel like I was just trying to get revenge of a relationship gone bad. I understand that shame and I'm disappointed there are so many women who put that shame on others which was displayed right here on this forum. I admit, I was frustrated when I first read the retraction. I'm truly sorry and now I get it.
  2. Maybe he's suspended for further investigation? After all it is just one person's word over another. Unless more come forward. I don't know. Dr. Garcia did seem very professional and concerned.
  3. At first I didn't think about binging. 4 months out I found myself mindless eating quite a bit. I'm 8 months out now and now that you mention it, I haven't had a desire to binge or eat when not hungry for a couple weeks now. I don't know what caused the switch. Maybe my vacation. I ate so much crap and felt like crap too! For me, it took the whole 8 months for my brain to catch up with the physical inability to binge. I know the problem is probably not gone forever but that's my experience as an 8 monther!
  4. Woohoo! Congratulations!!!! I have 6 more pounds to be in the 100s!
  5. Name calling shows not only a lack of intelligence but a lack of a valid point.
  6. I meant to say behind closed doors not back.
  7. I don't understand why being his patient has anything to do with....well ....anything. My uncle seemed like a great man. Always nice to me. Made me laugh all the time. In my eyes everyone liked to be around him. I wasn't aware that behind my back he was beating my aunt and abusive to my two young cousins.
  8. This is what you risk when you can't control yourself at your job. Someone getting upset and blasting you. If you ask me, he asked for it. You can't string patients /customers along by sleeping with them at a place of business and not suffer consequences. Come on. I'm surprised at how many people are defending him and his actions. I'm not defending her by any means, but she wasn't risking her career for this fling. Only her reputation is at stake here. If you break the rules expect the consequences.
  9. Nioxin helped me. It doesn't for everyone but I ran out and a week later my hair is falling out by the handful again! If you have a Beauty Brands near you, the liters are 50% off right now!
  10. It depends on what you're doing. If your lightening your hair it's more damaging and you hair is probably more fragile after surgery. If you're darkening it's not as damaging. The problem you may have is it won't take as well because of hormones/medication. I never stopped coloring my hair. I color it darker than my natural and didn't have problems with it taking the color. I colored it 2 weeks after surgery. I recommend getting it professionally done because the products are better.
  11. It took me about 3 weeks to feel better! Your not unusual you just had surgery! Hope you feel better by Friday! Maybe you could call and see if you have any clients scheduled. If not maybe take the rest of the week off.
  12. Oh girl, I have been too big for rides too. It was extremely embarrassing! I hope you have a blast!!
  13. I HAVE to wait at least 30 minutes because it hurts really bad if I drink too close to eating. It feels like I'm having a heart attack!
  14. Cherry tomatoes Tub of spring mix Avacado Peanut butter Raw almonds (I roast them myself) Chobani Greek yogurt Oatmeal Fiber one protein bars Eggs Bag of shrimp (makes 2-3 meals for my family) Salmon Kale for kale chips or sauteed for a side dish I usually have 2 seafood, 3 chicken, 1 red meat, and one bean soup dinner a week. These are things I am never without! Seems like we all have similar lists lol.
  15. My poor husband can't gain weight if his life depended on it! You'd think cleaning my plate would help but nope. He weighs before bed and he'll be up like 5 pounds then in morning those 5 pounds are gone! Haha! How I wish I had that problem!
  16. Your worries are minuscule my friend! You will be able to enjoy a glass of wine, maybe a beer (I can't do beer but many can). You will adjust to your new life. A few hard months are nothing compared to a living the rest of your life healthy. I'm 8 months out and I can eat anything I want. The only thing that kinda sucks is not being able to drink with meals. Well worth it though.
  17. I agree with everyone else and do full fat. Before surgery I never ate full fat products and well, I was fat! Full fat for me is more satisfying and doesn't leave me craving more.
  18. Eating out is tough for me. I usually order an appetizer but there's not always good selections with those. I struggled a lot with the clean plate syndrome in the beginning but I've I've adapted a pretty good eye of how much I can eat now. It takes time. I use small plates and utensils at home. Using normal plates really does make you want to fill up the plate, causing your eyes to bigger than your stomach! Eat slow and really be conscious of when you are getting full. I'm 8 months out and it took some time to get the hang of it.
  19. It's easy to say the sleeve 100% works and if it doesn't you're not trying the first 6 months. Like Cheri said, the surgery only removes most of your stomach and only one area that produces ghrelin. Other organs produce ghrelin and other hormones cause hunger. Leptin for example,is stored in your fat cells, as your fat cells shrink, the scream, "Hey! I'm starving here!" Leptin is released and tells your brain to eat! The doesn't fix metabolic issues. So many people go into this thinking it's a permanent fix without having to try. There are many factors as to why it may not work permanently. It's forced restriction, that's it. It's doesn't magically cure all ailments. Nor does it magically take your cravings for fried chicken away. Those who truly don't feel hunger after 6 months to a year are truly blessed but I don't think it's the norm.
  20. Or sometimes you realize your friend is not who you thought they were and choose not to associate yourself with them anymore.
  21. I agree with everyone, Kristina, you are great! Please don't lose any sleep over this. You've handled yourself amazingly! You are very much respected.
  22. Your hair is going to fall out regardless. But if you get all you protein, vitamins, water it might grow just as fast as it's falling out. If you wash your hair once a week, it will seem like a lot of hair is in your brush because that's 6 days worth of shedding hair. Massaging the scalp actually promotes hair growth. So I'd recommend shampooing every other day.
  23. If this was really all a lie, I'd like to know who the OP is. Did anyone actually see them having sex? Did these other women come forward on the forum? Or in one person's inbox? I'm so confused and honestly don't know what to think! I'm a hairstylist and am very close with my clients. I've recommended going to MX several times. Is this someone I should warn them about? Or was this just some attempt to get revenge?!?! I'm not saying this guy is innocent even of it is just flirting. It's uncomfortable and unprofessional, but this was a very serious claim. Maybe Kristina you could tell us exactly what you saw and not stories you heard from the OP?
  24. Honestly, this whole thing is pathetic! When is it going to stop? You've already damaged this man's reputation whether rightfully so or not. And your credibility has completely gone out the window!
  25. Nicolanz replied to LonghornNiner's topic in Rants & Raves
One thing I've noticed from cheaters is they don't take responsibility for their actions. It's always the other person's fault. "You don't do this, you're not the same, blah blah! " There are far better ways to end a relationship than straight up betrayal! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't even imagine how you feel. I hope you find peace and move on. 10 years is a long time and it will take time to heal. I can assure you that you are not broken and you will find someone who appreciates you! Focus on you now. Good luck to you!
