I had gastric sleeve surgery on 9/6/11 and for the first time in my life felt like I was in control of what I ate. Unfortunately, I have been dealt many hardships since then that have caused me to return to mindless, emotional eating and I have gained back 25 pounds as a result. My brother passed away in October last year, I moved 1000 miles away from family due to a job relocation, my husband hasn't been able to gain employment here which has caused huge financial strain, my Aunt recently passed away and I just buckled under all of the pressure.

I did great on the pre-diet and post-diet. I was committed, exercising, etc but once I could eat regular food I found myself slowly slipping back to old, destructive habits and within 7 months I gained 20 pounds and now almost 2 years out I have gained 30 pounds in total. I know that I have to get a handle on this now before I gain anymore. I am joining my fitness pal today and going to track my calories, water and exercise to help me get on track. I am recommitting today to get back to basics, to get out of my head and to fully use this tool that I have been given.
