Mishaps in the past 6 months

Thanks so much for the post. I am kind of going through a six month renewal. I have to admit that I wasn't exercising or eating right (not too much - just wrong things, not enough protein, etc.) I was throwing up a lot. I read a few books to get me back on track. I realized I was just floating through the excitement of the weight loss and not really taking advantage of the tool. I'm trying to get myself back on track with eating and exercise. I have to find an exercise that I like but that is a work in progress - kind of like the rest of this journey!
  2. Hi - Good Luck tomorrow! I'm sure you will do GREAT! I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Gadaletta and the practice so I'm sure Dr. Gellman is great as well. I"m about 3 weeks out and doing pretty good. I've lost almost 30 pounds and really have had no other complications (except gas pain the beginning.) I am getting sick of just liquids - but it is all part of process. Let me know how everything goes!
  3. I was sleeved 1/30 with Dr. Gadaleta in Manhasset.

    surgery tomorrow!

    good luck and congratulations!
  5. Hey everyone! I was sleeved on Wednesday 1/30 and came home yesterday afternoon. So far (knock on wood) things have been pretty good. I have gas pains which can be bad at times but I find that walking for a little, taking 2 Gas X strips and then sitting with a heating pad help. I'm trying to focus right now on getting in all my protein and water. I too am "eating" some broth and protein every 3 hours. I'm then waiting an hour after each meal and then continue sipping water - trying to get about 40 oz a day for now. I need to get more water in but I think this whole thing is a work in progress. There is so much to focus on when you first come home that it can be a bit overwhelming. One day at a time for all of us. Good luck everyone!

    IS ANYONE UP?

Thanks so much! I think right now I am more excited than nervous but I'm sure that will change once I get to the hospital!
  7. I'm so excited / nervous - I have surgery in a few hours and can't sleep at all. I'm ready for the "new" me and the chance to start over weight wise!

    hair loss?

Hi - I haven't had my surgery yet but I've read a lot on here that hair loss sometimes occurs around 3 months out. Everyone said that it lasts for a few months but DEFINITELY grows back. It is probably a result of the low vitamins. I've also read that people have been taken biotin to prevent / assist with the hair loss. Don't worry - I think it is part of the process and will grow back! (Easier said than done I know - I'm very concerned about hair loss as well!)

    Before and after photos

    Awesome pics - congrats!
  12. Hi Everyone - I'm sure that this was covered somewhere but I can't find it. Can someone tell me approximately how long the surgery lasts? I know it is probably different for everyone but a general idea would be good. My surgery is 1/30 - I am so excited and starting to get a little bit nervous! Thanks in advance!
  13. I'm scheduled for January 30th as well. We will be fine! Nerves are natural and part of the process. Don't worry!
