  1. Hi all, hope everyone is feel good. This type of right side pain just began yesterday....but I'm 4 months post op. I don't know if it's even related to the surgery or not. I'm not sure what is even in that location now that my gallbladder has also been removed....lol. Any ideas?

  2. I've been experiencing the same type of pinch or pull on the right side - - which started yesterday - the only difference is that I'm over 4 months post op!! This is curious to me....I've had smooth sailing up until now. Maybe it's not even related to the sleeve surgery. They removed my gallbladder at the same time....so it can't be that either. Does anyone have any ideas?

  3. Sleeved 12/20 and feeling ups and down in energy. I was on liquids only for the few days in the hospital and a couple at home. Started adding milk and yogurt quickly. No eating purees.

Trying to get all the liquid in, don't have a Protein goal yet. Meeting on Sunday with NUT. Seeing surgeon on Tuesday. Hoping for some more structure.

Trouble getting all the pills down during the day. I cut them up, but then there are more of them! Each day I try to do a little bit more.

Starting back to work next week - and hoping to have the energy to work my full day (10:30 - 6:00). I'm determined to take it slow and easy!

  4. Thanks Frank. I really have had a very easy time, I thought I had nothing to post!!!

We all need to share the good and the bad. So sad to think the scary stuff makes some run away.

Getting sleeved was the best decision I could make (even with some little ups and downs).

I was sleeved 12/20 and like you have never vomited and have been able to drink. I kept wondering why it's so easy. The people on the site have such complications! Did the doctor really remove all he should have? LOL

Frank, have a great new year and keep strong!

  5. Wow Andrew! Sounds likes you're doing great!

I was also sleeved on 12/20. I moved to mushie food over the weekend. I think I took it a little too fast and today I've gone back to mostly liquids, yogurt and mashed potatoes.

I find it hard to take all my meds during the day. I've been cutting them in half, and now it seems like double the amount (lol, it is)! I'm nervous about taking a WHOLE pill!

I'm seeing my doctor this Thursday for the first time. His office and my husband's work schedule were hard to coordinate for an appointment any sooner.

    So far - so good.

Googie, what type of shakes? I haven't been given any instructions for Protein shakes - don't even know what products are available....curious to know.

    Be well!

  6. Hey You December Sleevers!!!!

The new year is just around the corner. We have so much to look forward too!!!

How is everyone doing? I was sleeved on 12/20/12.

I progressed to puree over the weekend and things seem okay so far. Anyone else?

I have some soreness on my right side, but I don't know if that's from the gallbladder removal or the sleeve! lol

Seeing my Dr. for the first time this Thursday. Hope I get the okay to go back to work (at least part time) cuz I'm starting to go stir-crazy at home!

Love to hear from other Dec. Sleevers!!!

    Yael

  7. Hi December Sleevers!! I was sleeved 12/20 and feeling good. As an extra added bonus, my gallbladder was removed (it contained a very large stone) and I also had a hiatial hernia repair!! I'm down over 13 pounds since starting the pre-op diet on 12/1/12.

Last night noticed a warm, red area above IV site. Dr. looked at it today and thinks its an infection. So now I have to fit a liquid antibiotic into my liquid schedule 3 times a day! Ha.

I acutally started a spread sheet in EXCEL, adjust the times each morning according to when I get up, and print it each day. I have a personalized schedule for the day and check each item off as I go. Seems to be working.

Anyone else out there have to self inject Claxon to prevent clots? I've been doing that myself since my 2nd day home. Only 5 days left for that. Kinda freaked me out.

Glad I went through with my decision!!!

  8. Hi Vicki! I considered the lap band but in the end decided on the gastric sleeve. I am post op day 6 and since (pre-surgery diet) 12/1/12 I have lost a little over11 pounds.

Everything has gone very well for me, no significant problems. I even had my gallbladder removed and a hiatial hernia repair at the same time!

Happy to keep in touch and answer any questions I can.

    Stay Strong!!!!

    Yael

  9. Hi kbby,

I'm on post op day 5 and added milk and liquid yogurt yesterday. During the few day on Clear Liquids I had apple juice, cranberrry juice and mostly Water. If I measured 100 cc's for each hour then I knew I was getting enough. I had rumblings too, but never really felt full.

Now I alternate yogart/milk with a liquid....so I start with water/juice with my vitiman, then have a yogurt 1/2 our later. Then I moved to Soup broth day. I spread the vitmans (liquid and pills) out duirng the day with my drinks. My the end of the day I've had 8 - 1/2 cups of liquads and 5-6 milk/yogurt....depending on what time I get up....

I acutally started a excel spread sheet today where I can move the times around, but keep the all the quanities I need each day!

  10. Great gift to yourself!!!! I'm 5 days post op and no regrets. Had a couple hurdles when I got home....but I'm working thru it. Have to self inject Claxon to prevent clotting....but I did it myself today!!! Only 6 days left of that!!!! Other hurdle was the wound from the drain....I have to change the gauze each day, but that's looking good now too. I feel like such a badass!

Have a great holiday and just keep walking - and drinking each hour when they allow it.!!!!

    Best of luck.

    Yael

  11. Hello November Sleevers -

My name is Yael and I'm 50 years young! I live in Israel, but am orignally from Rhode Island. Insurance here is different, but still a process! I'm married and have an 18 year old daughter entering the Israel Defense Force in November. My second daughter is 15 and quite the teenager.

I'm looking forward to having the sleeve. Originally I was scheduled for the band on 10/17/12. After meeting with the dietian I've changed my mind and now must meet with another surgeon. That appointment is 11/7. He said he has open dates for November.....so I hoping I can get this done soon!!!!

Looking forward to chatting with others going thru the same experiences. There are support channels here....but my Hebrew is terrible and would never be able to be on a site with Hebrew speakers (typers).

I'm looking forward to the next 50 healthy years of my life!!!! :D

  12. Hello Pink Grace,

I hope to be on the November schedule for the new surgeon I will be seeing in two weeks. I'm a bit concerned about not being 'on' a diet yet, so I don't know if November is just wishful thinking. When I met with the dietian she gave me a print out, and spoke about starting something 2 weeks before surgery.

Guess I can always change to a new month if I have too :)

So glad I found this wonderful site to research and find others in the same situation.

    It's great!!
