  1. I had to do 12 days of them. Im pretty tough but was glad when they were done! Make sure alcohol is dry before doing the injection. I found that doing them low and out to the sides stung the least. Aim toward center of the body. And yes, alternate sides. I also avoided stretch marks where skin seemed thinner. It is not pleasant, but just one of our things that must be done. Power through it and move on! It will be over before you know it!
  2. So glad it finally worked out for you!
  3. I was the same stats! The sleep doc said he would not have made the recommendation but the surgeon has strict number cutoffs so i used the stupid thing for the 3 weeks of required preop use (yes they check the machine card) and hauled it to the hospital where it was never needed. It now lives on a back closet shelf where it can rot as far as i am concerned!
  4. I hope i get to the point of loving exercise but right now it is forced. I am changing it up to try to getmore interested. I walk, i have a zumba dvd, a core workout dvd done with a big ball, and i just ordered a yoga dvd. I also do some bat wing exercises with weights and crunches on an ab lounger. I also have a wii but do not have it set up yet. Oh, i also ordered the inside out program fiddleman talks about. Good luck and i hope you are more driven to workout than i am right now!
  5. It is not a test. It is time for education regarding nutrition, portion size, etc. and a time for you to ask questions. It to help prep you for preop eating and post op success.
  6. Thanks. I'll have to check them out. I have peach and lemonaid Syntrax nectar, but they are still made of whey isolate.
  7. I had a little blip on mine too. The stress test is truly not a big deal but does take some time to get through since they do pics over time. Once they saw the stress test results, i was cleared for that piece. To hopefully make you feel better, i will also tell you that i had to do followup testing from the chest exray as well and then from the ct scan which resulted in me having to get my thyroid removed. You just have to be ready to power through every obstacle thrown in front of you and stay the course. Good luck and keep us posted.
  8. Yep.. Such a warm, unsweet treat. Yes... Liquid must be 140 or less. I keep a thermometer on the cabinet to make sure i dont have to throw it out.
  9. So do you still feel like an obese, out of shape person locked in a slim, fit, healthy body?
  10. Girl! We have watched you go through hellmand back the past few months with this surgery! ..and by the way... We have agonized and supported you through all those times as well! What the heck are you thinking? You battled your way here so why in the world would you go all weak on us now?!?! Embrace your new life and give thanks that you are finaly at this point. We have all grown to love you and want the best for you so go clean a closet or something and forget about a thousand calories of crappy gunk. Let that sweet liver of yours stay nice and pliable.
  11. Hope so. It is so much better at home...cozy nesting for recovery. Just a different level of comfort.
  12. Ah.. But that may be a good thing! Sounds like food is not the top priority anymore! I so hope i have to eat out of necessity rather than joy. Thanks for responding.
  13. Why?? Whats the problem? I had 3 weeks of clear liquids plus shakes.. Have spent the last two days making a grocery list to be ready for food this coming wednesday. What should i be prepared for? :/
  14. Dr Barry Greene in Rockville! Truly amazing doctor and support team!
  15. My doc wants me to switch off of whey protein for awhile. I know I have read a mention of soy and hemp. Are there others and which one would be best quality? Thanks for your help.
  16. Nope you are not being dramatic. You know you. This is a huge transition and it makes most of us face some hard truths about ourselves and it gives us the gift of a " do over.". It has been truly amazing so far and i just cant wait to experience the next year ahead! Try to enjoy the ride and not overanalyze too much! Good luck.
  17. Would this be grazing or is it closer to planned snacks? I guess it is not really planned in your case, but close. . I guess i think of grazing as just bits here and there all day rather than 3 meals and 1-2 planned snacks. What do you think fiddle?
  18. Of course talk to your doc or nut, but also know you need to watch your carbs as well as your Protein and fluids. I believe between 30 and 50 are the avg range. I have to mix my shakes with milk for the carbs and drink g2 as well to just get to 30. I do sometimes have some apple juice mixed with Water to cut it just a little. Youll get your carbs with juice, but you will also get extra calories. This is probably a ggod time to start logging with a program like myfitness pal so that you know your exact intake of protein, carbs, fats, and calories.
  19. I hope my warped love for food never returns! I would be fine open mouth, throw in required nutrient and move on!.... Kind of like a wood burning stove.
