  1. Val212 I was sleeved by Dr Bacal August 2012. He is wonderful not to mention his entire staff is so accommodating. I had some complications but he kept me informed every step of the way. I actually miss the newness of being sleeved. He's going to perform a panniculectomy on me in a month to remove some excess skin. Good luck, take it all in and enjoy your new reign on life!
  2. Highest 228 Current 161 FYI-the candy girl tshirt was a song title, not that I loved candy. Lol
  3. Hi everyone! Just found this thread. I'm in the Farmington Hills area and was sleeved in August at Oakwood hospital in Dearborn. I'm down 67lbs and loving life only 16lbs to goal weight!
  4. It's dehydration. I noticed it 3 months out but I wast getting my fluids in. Got my fluids up and hands are pretty again.
  5. I experienced the same thing after surgery and even 4 months out it still happens. Doctor recommended Miralax. I keep it handy!
  6. I posted this in the post op recipe forum Oh my I finally found my "Reese's" fix. It a recipe
  7. I tried eating smart ones for lunch for about two weeks. I lost the least amount of weight those weeks. My protein was down and carbs were up and I wasn't even eating a full meal. I no longer eat them. Instead I just eat a piece of cooked chicken or fish with a veggie
  8. Happy camper - I think it is for one but I'd have to look on their site because the balls I made are small so I don't think they are that high. Plus their recipe called for reduced fat creamy peanut butter and I use natural. I'd say mine are 1/2 or 3/4 the calories. Enjoy!
  9. Oh my I finally found my "Reese's" fix. It a recipe powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury had for chocolate Peanut Butter Protein balls. I don't have Unjury brand but I do have chocolate Protein powder. It's simple: 3/4 cup peanut butter - I use a natural one 2-3 scoops of chocolate protein powder Mix into a dough, roll about 11 balls, freeze and them eat. Oh my soooo yummy!!! 131 cal, 10 grams protein, 6.5 grams fat, 9 grams carbs, 3 grams sugar
  10. I'm 3.5 months out and clumps at a time come out. My doctor said its completely normal. He states our bodies are shedding cells and that includes hair cells. It will slow down. I cut 6" off so it won't pull so hard on my scalp and I've added highlights to give dimension so you can see any thinning spots. Good luck!
  11. Miralax is amazing and it has no taste. Mix it in with anything liquid. It helps loosen stool.
  12. I beat my goal by 1lb!! Goal was 179 Actual was 178
  13. I am 3 months out and live by the Bariatric Advantage chocolate protein powder. I mix it with almond milk. Love love love it! If I want to get creative I'll add pb2 and banana and blend it.

  15. Sleeved 8/14 Starting weight 228 Current weight 179 49 lbs ... Woo Hoo! 34 lbs to go!
  16. Pain is very common and so is the dent. I am 3 months out. My doctor said to massage the dented area(s) in a warm shower and eventually they went away (I had 2). Use your pain meds as needed and prop your belly with soft pillows or roll a blanket just to support it if you want to sleep on your side. It took me a couple weeks before I was comfortable enough to sleep on my side. I ended up pulling a muscle by trying too soon. Good luck!
  17. 2 Celebrate multi vit, Celebrate vitamin D 5000 IU, 4 bariatric advantage calcium citrate chews, bariatric advantage iron 30mg, Natures bounty vitamin b12 sublingual 2500mg. Just remember calcium and iron can not be taken at same time. I hated taking them at first now I have a system down and actually like them. I'm 3 months out.
  18. If I want to treat myself to the taste of coffee I order decaf. For example at SB and DD I order non fat decaf sugar free lattes. Since I haven't had caffeine or pure sugar in forever I can't taste a big difference. I HATE drinking my calories but I only have it once or twice a month. If you have a smart phone download the Starbucks app and you can create your own drink and it will calculate the nutritional value. Helps to see 250+ calories to make you curb your desire for it.
  19. I was sleeved 8-14 by Dr. Bacal in Dearborn out of Oakwood Hospital. Best surgeon ever!
  20. They are discouraged because of the high acidity. High acid foods cause reflux.
  21. @Fiddleman I am 3 months out and just started losing my hair. I was in tears. Dozens and dozens of strands at a time. Seems as if you are getting a ton of protein. How are you getting all of that in a day? On a good day I can only scrape down 60grams. I can also only take in about 500-600 cal a day.
