Hair Loss @ 2 Months

Recommended Posts

My hair is coming out in handfuls. I am uping my Protein from one 30g Protein Shake a day plus food to three, so 90g protein from the shakes plus food. I also added Biotin. Doc is running blood work to see if I am missing in key Vitamins.

Did anything work for you? Any advice?

From those I have talked to that have been through it they just tell me, it happens and it grows back- Sounds like I have to deal with it. But when will it stop? I am worried I will be bald my Christmas at this rate!!

Thank you!

I didn't even start losing hair until about 6 -7 months out! I thought I would sidestep it, but no!

I was eating over 100 grams of Protein and taking all the supplements and Biotin, and still it happened. My surgeon's office said it was just plain unavoidable, that everyone loses their hair, some more noticeably than others.

Sigh... but a small trade off, in my opinion!

I started losing hair (significantly) at around 2 months post-op. I added a sublingual Biotin tablet (1,000mcg daily) around 4.5 months post-op (after clearing it with my surgeon). In the last week or so, my Hair loss has almost completely stopped. Regarding Protein input (food), I average about 90 grams/day. I use Solaray Biotin...orange flavored (pretty tasty)...ordered from Vitamin Shoppe for about $7 for a bottle of 100 tablets.

I'm 3 months out and it's pretty bad... Had plenty to spare at first, not so much now...

I'm 3.5 months out and clumps at a time come out. My doctor said its completely normal. He states our bodies are shedding cells and that includes hair cells. It will slow down. I cut 6" off so it won't pull so hard on my scalp and I've added highlights to give dimension so you can see any thinning spots. Good luck!

Same here. I must say though, my showers are faster and my hair dries quicker!! I plan to use scarves and hats. It is wintertime!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
