That is awesome that insurance approved you! Now for the surgeons office to get the letter of approval!

I'm 5' 4" and currently weigh 255. My surgeon said a good goal for me is 175... Which is good, but I would LOVE to be around 150... So I have 80-100 lbs to lose... I will get my date in the next few days, insurance approved me today!

I did not contact my insurance. But I have heard of people doing so. Mine was submitted on May 8 and I got approval today. I did call the bariatric office to check twice.

I just got approved! Waiting on my date now!

I'm approved!

I got the call today that I got approved for surgery! They said that the surgeons office will be calling me to set a date for surgery and my pre-op appointment with the surgeon. And my nutritionist will call me to let me know when to start my liquid diet. I am SO excited and I can not wait to hear when my date is!

I had to go the the hospital twice for my psych. Th first time was to fill out the questionnaire, which was right around 700 questions. Nothing, but it took forever (2 1/2 hours) to fill in all the bubbles. Then I had to go back a few days later (so doctor could review my test results). On my second visit we talked about my test and talked about a lot of different topics pertaining to my life, surgery, and my support system. I was out of there in 30 minutes...

I just found out a few hours ago and I'm already so anxious! Thanks for the wishes of good luck

My file has been submitted to insurance as of today! Now it's just to wait for the letter/ call of approval (or not)... I'm going to be on edge the next few weeks every time my phone rings! Lol

I can't wait to fight fire again! I used to be a fire fighter, but because of the weight gain I moved to the administrative side of the department. I can't wait to be back in the heat of it all!

Congrats on your approval and getting a date set! I've been doing one shake a day since December... The easiest to do for me is Breakfast. I've been trying to incorporate two a day, but it has been a challenge.

I have Humana... I haven't heard anything about if they are tough or not... I hope not! Lol

I'm don't with pre-op tests! It is so great to hear the words "I'm going to clear you for surgery" from the nutritionist and psych... By the middle of next week they should be sending off my information to insurance. So I guess now I just wait... Crossing my fingers for a quick response, but I'm not holding my breath for it...

Just left my meeting with the doctor... She said I'm not crazy! yayy! Only steps left are: Final nutritionist appointment (2pm Friday) Barium swallow (7:45am Friday) Labs ( 8:15am Friday) Then sending off to insurance!!! OMG I'm so excited! )

Thanks everyone for the support! It took 2 1/2 hours to finish the 'test' it was 700 questions! I'll see the examiner next week to discuss! Ekkkk! All I've got left is the appointment with the examiner, barium swallow, and 1 last nutritionist appointment before sending off for approval!
