Hey folks.. I was sleeved on 10/4. Down about 58 pounds! The weight loss has been a breeze.. Eating and keeping food in is my challenge. Very few things taste good and I am NEVER hungry. I'm in the gym or on the tennis courts almost every day. I rely on energy supplements to get me through my activities, as my overall energy level is very low due to my lack of food. I live on Watermelon,Popsicles and juice. 4 Triscuit crackers with a cheese slice quartered are all I can tolerate pre work out. My Doc says that my taste buds and appetite will eventually re-calibrate. Not even being able to at least nibble on any of my former favorite foods suck! I anyone else experience this?

I couldn't eat and drink simultaneously even if I wanted to, never could. I'm almost 3 years post op and if I drink while I eat or even within an hour after eating, I get an "overly full, sick to my stomach" feeling. I drink carbonated beverages, and just take my time with it. Sometimes I feel like my food is sitting in my stomach like a rock and not moving (after a long time - I had some troubles with some kinds of food getting stuck and will never eat rice again) and my doc said to sip a carbonated beverage to help it make it's way through. It really works, because shortly after I start to feel it digesting.

Well I survived! Despite a report of a flawless procedure, I had some major complications later that night.. My blood sugar was 99 at the time of surgery. By that evening it had shot up to 350 and my BP was dangerously low. I'm told my body was Ice cold yet I was drenched In sweat. The doctors and nurses basically spent the nit in my room. I was about to be sent to ICU when somehow everything went back to normal within normal ranges... Once that crisis passed, on came the gas paint OMG!!! I ended up staying an additional night in the hospital and required 2 pints of blood... I'm home now, resting well, no pain or discomfort. I walked my neighborhood today.it wore me out, but I made it through.. Thanks for all the encouraging words of support. I think I'm on my way! 13 pounds since surgery day!

My Dr. said it's a great snack once on solids. Low, low calories

Sorry to hear about your complications but so glad to hear how we'll you're doing. I hope it's smooth sailing from here on out for you! Keep us posted on your progress.

Did you already have high blood pressure?

Had my first today. Never trust a fart. First i peed the bed while vomiting. Now nearly pooped the bed farting. Good thing I an still in the hospital. Talk about tmi

So glad you are doing better. Sounds like your body had a crazy reaction and then got its stuff back together! You are doing great if you're already walking your neighborhood. Welcome to the loser's bench!

Good luck!!!! I'm the same as you. Up until my egd on the 21st of last month I've never been knocked out before. I have had IV's before.

Blessings to you!!! Getting sleeved was one of the best decisions I ever made!!! No more health issues, seatbelt extenders, or sweating like a pig with the slightest movement!!!!

Good Luck!! Up until I had my Endoscopy at the hospital I had never been in or had an IV either. Wasn't nearly as bad as I had made it out to be in my mind. I agree, the forum was a huge find.
