It might not have been a long ways to go to get to onderland but it came so fast. 2 weeks post op exactly. Havent been here for years and I don't plan on leaving still holding my breath to get over the 6 week leak scare (I know they can happen anytime but 6 weeks is my magic number tip I can put it in the back of my mind). Recovery has been a breeze thus far. Seeing everyone's posts and pics are such a great help and inspiration to a newbie like myself.

Dr lopez did my surger in TJ on 10/25. Everything went great and Easy recovery so far

wow as I re-read my posts I'm going to have to stop making posts from my phone because I have mispelled and missed letters all over the place (gotta love autocorrect). Thank you guys and Doxie as much as I don't want to think about the hair loss I know it's coming, those are great tips and I'm also going to keep my hair blonde (I usually go dark in winter) to keep the contrast of my hair and my white scalp to a minimum. My hair isn't thin but its very fine so I'm dreading the loss cuz it doesn't feel like theres much to take from. I'm also going to start the hair growth vitamins and switch up my shampoo/conditioner to some that were recommended on here to kickstart my growth before I even notice more strands in my hands than usual. And I have been using JOICO body luxe thickening elixer on and off for years which I love, gives instant volume when you dry your hair that lasts all day without being greasy or heavy like some of the root booster products. I highly recommend it.

Never could stand drinking soy milk before surgery but boy have my tastebuds changed, I LOVE SILK lol. Especially the chocolate (which is odd because I never really cared for regular chocolate milk), it helps with the "I need something sweet" moments. Pretty much live on silk, water, smoothies because nothing else is appealing or hurts my new belly but I don't really feel hunger and have to remind myself to drink frequently. So far recovery has been so much easier than expected...still really new but I have high hopes it will continue to go this well. I had VSG on 10/25 in Tijuana-heaviest wt 230, before preop diet wt 223, surgery wt 218, 5 day post op wt 206. I don't know where its going and I can't really see it yet but I stand on the scale 3 different times to make sure it's not lying to me lol. Feel blessed to have such luck thus far and keeping my fingers crossed it stays this way, never thought I'd ever say my biggest problem in day has been eating/drinking enough

I was sleeved on 11/25 with Dr. Ortiz assisting and he was great. I saw Dr. Ortiz as much post op as I did Dr. Lopez and for longer. He stopped by the night after surgery to check on me and he was the one who came to the hotel to remove my JP drain the night before we left and went over all of the post op teachings/diet/expectations/etc. He was very supportive and encouraging. Very nice professional kind man with a sense of humor, very personable. I'm an ER/ICU nurse so I have gotten a pretty good feel for physicians over time and he seems to be one of the all around good ones.
