  1. Just got my date today! August 20th. Pre-op date is August 15th. They wanted to schedule me for the 6th or 7th, but I wanted to delay it a bit just to get prepared.
  2. How have everyone's experiences been with Dr. Pirrello? I have to say, I'm not pleased so far. My consultation appointment was in October and here it is mid-June and I still am not sleeved. I only had to do 3 months with the nutritionist (which actually only takes 2 months.) Everything else seems like it has just taken forever because of their total lack of communication and effort to do their part of the pre-op process. It is near impossible to get in contact with them unless you actually drive down there. The funny part is that they assured me during consultation that I would only need to make one appointment and that they would take care of everything else. They have done nothing that they have said they would thus far. I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to another surgeon. The only thing keeping me with Dr. Pirrello is all of the great reviews he gets from everyone else.
  3. Are you taking sudafed? When I had a sinus infection, this caused my blood pressure to skyrocket and made the doctor at urgent care very concerned. But it went right back to normal afterwards. This is very common with sudafed.
  4. I'm 5'2" and apple shaped. I'm currently a size 18/20 and 2x tops at 240lbs. Back when I was 190, I was still a size 18, though it was loose, with xl-xxl tops, large at old navy because their stuff runs huge. What's funny is that around 4 or 5 years ago, before losing and gaining back, I weighed 230 which is 10lbs less than I do now, and I was in a size 22 and 3x tops. Maybe the sizes are getting bigger? At my highest weight many many years ago, I was around 270 or 280 (I stopped using the scale) and I was into a 3x, and 20-24 pants depending on the brand.
  5. I have it too! My last NUT appointment is tomorrow, and I thought I'd be done with everything and ready to submit to insurance/schedule my surgery date. But now I have to have two weeks of treatment, and then get retested two weeks after I'm finished with that. A whole extra month!
  6. I'm sort of concerned about the same thing. I'm not with anyone right now, but I plan on starting to date after the surgery. It worries me that I will never be able to do normal date things. Such as going out on dinner or coffee dates and such, which is something I've always dreamed about doing.
  7. Who did everyone go to for their psych evals? That's all I have left to do, and I'm very nervous about it.
  8. In regards to the "dirt" comment, I am speechless.. As for insulin resistance being the cause, is this something that will definitely go away after weight loss? I've had dark spots since I was a youngster. (I've always been plump.) The only thing I ever suspected it could be from was PCOS, which I have never been tested for. I do hope either way that they will disappear after the surgery.
  9. Nutritionist has been great. I'm going to Robin Cook in Monroe instead of Heart & Wellness uptown. She's been really awesome. I was shocked when she told me that she doesn't think I'm getting enough calories in. Anyway, she seems to just want to help me get these required months in, rather than scolding me about my diet, which is what I had expected the nutritionist to be like.
  10. How did it go? I'll be having mine with Dr. Pirrello as well.
  11. I actually haven't had my surgery yet. I've still got 3 months to spend with the nutritionist before I can get my insurance approval. My meetings with Dr. Pirrello have all gone well so far though.
  12. You look incredible! I can't believe how amazing your results are after only two months!! We are about the same weight, and I'm hoping my recovery and weight loss results are similar to yours.
  13. I'm from Charlotte. I'm going to be having my surgery with Dr. Pirello at Presbyterian Matthews.
  14. Good luck with your results. I haven't even had my consultation yet (next week) but I'm already worried about failing my psych evaluation. I wish I knew exactly what they were looking for.
