LeannePilot1 got a reaction from mel2643 in How Are All Of You Sept 2012 Sleevers Doing?
Hi Everyone - How are you Sept. Sleevers doing?
    My surgery was Sept. 25.
At first I was doing a GREAT job getting all of my Water in, but now that I am back to work I am finding it harder to remember to sip, even though my water bottle is right here with me.
Also, as they say, the surgery is on your stomach, not your brain... Prior to surgery I was pretty good at keeping to a good workout schedule. Now I'm struggling with that. I did have multiple pulminary emboli in both lungs 1 week post-op (in spite of 6 short walks every day) and I was required to curtail exercise for awhile, but now I am having a hard time sticking to a schedule. My daughter and I are starting a new exercise plan together tonight! : )
I also have HEAD HUNGER like CRAZY. I called my Dr.s office and said "I AM STARVING!" and the nurse practitioner said "No, you're not". LOL!
The GREAT news is that I am losing the weight! I have 6 sizes of clothes in my closet and I have shrunk out of the largest size and my second largest size are getting big!
I am curious about other folks triumphs and what other people might be struggling with.

Ask her how many of those clients that went from a 22 to a 6 wound up at a 26 to 28 a year or two later.
Most of us have tried and failed multiple diet and exercise regimens, even with "outstanding" personal trainers. And many on this forum and elsewhere have dropped significant amounts of weight with some of those programs only to gain it all back and then some because we simply couldn;t stick to it long-term. Old habits crept back in. Surgery is a "last resort" of sorts for many, and in some cases it really is the only realistic option for the sake of their health. You may want to politely educate your co-worker about how the sleeve helps enforce a long-term change in one's approach to eating, and does help prevent some (though certainly not all) of those bad habits. And that, contrary to what she may think, is still really hard to maintain and not taking the easy way out.
Best of luck to you in your goals!

We've tried all that. How long will those 6's stay 6's? I don't wish any harm, but we're not here because we can't lose the weight. We're here because the darn pounds sneak back and bring buddies. This isn't for a cruise or a wedding, this is for life. I want something I can sustain on my own, don't you?

I would totally stay away fromt he chips and nuts at this point the reason being that your stomach is still healing and you could hurt it..... so follow your surgeons guidlines.....
I am only a few weeks ahead of you but during soft food stage I set up a routine . every Surgeon is differnt but most people on here early on try to get at least 60 protien in daily and 64 oz Water around 5-6 hundred calories.... I set my day up like this and whether i am hungry or not I take in the required items to fuel my body.
7 am Breakfast usually just a protien shake premier protien chocolate
    8-1030 Water
11 am lunch usually egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, refried Beans
    12-230 water
3 snack time, maybe some soft cheese or yogurt depend if I feel hungry
6 or 7 depending dinner, noodless lasagna , meatballs with sauce, canned stew , pretty much live on chili ....
water for the rest of the night unless I dont have enough protien then I take another protien shake or add some unflavored protien into a SF pudding. I consume around 600 caloriies and try to excerise at least 3 x a week ...
I am down 63 lbs and was sleeved on 9-6-12

11 days post-op and I have lost 19lbs. So far I have not had to take any blood pressure or diabetes medication. Best thing I have ever done. Just wish I had done it sooner.
