    One last request before surgery!

If you do decide to eat some pizza, I would recommend you do not eat the crust, eat only the topping. At least that way you will be eating mostly protein (meat and cheese). It won't be that long and you will be able to eat pizza again after your surgery. I had my surgery back in September and have been eating pizza for a while now. Mostly I eat just the topping, but I do take a bite of the crust ever so often.

    Scared To Eat

Don't be afraid to eat. It's wonderful. Start slow and eat very small bites. I have a 19 month old so I use her baby spoons to eat with. It forces me to eat small amounts at a time. You might try getting some from your local dollar store to help you. Just an idea. Be prepared though, some textures and tastes that you used to like, you will find you do not like anymore. Good luck.
  3. I was sleeved 9/17 and as of this morning am down 32 lbs. I walk around my neighborhood and also exercise with my Wii fit plus almost everyday. My husband and kids participate with me in both activities. We compete with each other on the Wii fit games. I think their involvement and support has been the #1 reason I have been successful with this new aspect in my life. As for the food, I have been on soft foods (mashed potatoes, soups, pudding) since three days after surgery, my post-op diet allowed me to add chicken salad, tuna salad, viennas and any other processed meat to my diet on day 15. This also has been a big help to me because I HATE the protein shakes and I'm now getting a good bit of protein from the food I get to eat.
  4. Sorry bout that, don't be too jealous, three bites of grits and I'm done. I share a bowl of grits with my 18 month old most mornings, I get 3 bites and she eats the rest. It's kinda said that she can eat more than me now.

    Gas X Strips Really Work

I'm 12 days post-op and mine only lasted 2-3 days past surgery. Walk a lot and it will help. I occasionaly have an issue if I drink my water to fast.
  6. My diet is nothing at all like yours. I am now 12 days post op and I was only on a liquid diet for 2 days after my surgery. Day 3 I started eating things like grits, oatmeal, eggs (scrambled, boiled or fried), soups without noodles, rice or meat in them and I can have a cracker or melba toast with each meal. Day 15 I can start eating some processed meats (canned chicken, tuna, viennas). There was never any mention of anything having to be pureed. So far I'm tolerating everything just fine. I'm wondering why there is such a vast difference in our post op diets.
