  1. I am 4 days post op and just about getting all of my 60 grams of protien in a day and 64 ounces of clear fluids. I definately can feel a tightening in my chest if I get too full, but since it is just liquids it goes away soon and I just keep sipping. My surgery went real well and I have so far had no complications. Looking forward to new beginnings. I lost about 40 pounds before surgery, so I have been feeling good. I think my surgeon and bariatric team did a wonderful job of preparing me for this, and it looks like yours did too. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. And here is to a new and healthier us. Joan

    Just Got Approved

I am very excited for you, I just got approval last Thursday, I have a pre-op appointment on the 11th of December and they told me they would schedule surgery at that time. Seems like I have been jumping hoops forever, now that it is almost here I have some fears. Good luck to you, I will follow your story. Joan

    I Need A Friend.

I would love to be your friend, I am still pre-surgery, have been seeing a doctor about my weight since March of 2012, only down 9 pounds, I have increased my excercise and am eating healthy, cut out drinking, I feel alot better than I did, also feel like I have lost more than 9 pounds, but the scale just doesn't show it. I have had my phych, dietician, sleep-eval, blood work, etc., I have my consultation Nov. 5th, and we will see what else they need me to do. Hopefully I am about ready to submit for surgery. It seems like I have been working on this forever. Keep me updated on your journey.

    Moving Right Along!

Good luck to you, I am also 2.5 hours away from my surgery site, I am trying to coordinate my appointments also. I did do some of them locally so see if your hospital, surgeon, will allow that. I don't have a surgery date yet, I am hoping they will submit to insurance after I go in November 5th. Joan

I Had A Breakdown At Work Today

I understand what you are feeling, I have not had my sleeve yet, still working on insurance, appointments, etc. but absolutely hate my pictures also. Just absorb all the information on this web-site, it is great and might help make a decision. Here for you!!!!
  7. Mae, I am going to request to befriend you so I can keep up on your story. I go to my seminar this Thursday, Oct. 11th, kind of back-ward, I think all of my requirements are met, I started in March of 2012 and was working with Tallgrass Bariatric Surgery in Topeka, KS, when I finished all my requirements my insurance told me they just approved University Medical Center in Omaha, which is alot closer for me, so I am starting the process there although they have reviewed what I have previously done, and think that everything will be accepted except maybe the dietician visit I already have done. I hope to have more answers after Thursday night. Good luck to you, and I look forward to following your story. Joan
  8. Just wanting to know if anyone has had gastric sleeve surgery done in Nebraska, specifically University Hospital? Experiences, pre-op diet, length of hospital stay, etc. I am still in the process of being qualified for insurance. Thank YOU Joan
  9. MY heart feels for you, I do agree with most of the other posts though and think you should go to the appointment and ask about your fears. I also have alot of anxiety and don't have alot of family support, so this web-site is great.
