NG I'm not mad, I know I shouldn't have eaten the ice cream. No nutritional value and didn't even taste that great. I don't know what to eat anymore, I hate protein shakes! I've eaten pistachios and beef jerky for the protein, tried chicken several times but it always gets stuck. Gained 5 pounds thanks to the IV, so sick of everything! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Why is it that the bad food goes down so easy? I just ate an ice cream sandwich with no problem. I've been so hungry the last few days, I guess it has to do with me being sick. My surgery was 1 month ago today, I drink 4-5 cups of Water a day. I've called the surgeons office a couple times about my dizziness and my legs aching so bad at night that I couldn't sleep. I was told that I was probably dehydrated and to drink more water. I drink as much as I can but still getting worse so I decided to come to the ER. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I have been trying to get my Water in but I can't. I finally decided to go to the ER. I'm sitting here now getting fluids while they run tests. My veins are flat from dehydration so it was a struggle to get the IV in and it hurt like hell. Sent from my iPhone using VST

NG, sorry I haven't called yet, I've been having a hard time as I know we all have. I finally paid rent today and thankfully my manager was nice and waived the $100 late fee since she knew I had surgery. So frustrated that I can't enjoy food anymore, it's now a chore to eat. I'm still dizzy and sore from being dehydrated and now I'm sick. Plus this week has been emotional for me since Saturday is the 20 year anniversary of my dads death. I know people think I should be over it since its been so long but it bothers me that he's been gone longer than I had him in my life, and now I can't even eat the pain away. The scale hasn't moved lately and I'm disappointed with my weight loss, I'm losing slower than a lot of people on here and I've got 100 pounds more to lose than anyone I've seen on here, I would think with soooo much to lose it would come off a little faster. Isopure makes me sick and I don't like fish so I've been eating mostly string cheese, cottage cheese and some chicken but the chicken still gets stuck. I can't get all my fluid in so I'm dehydrated. I really want to be able to eat again but most of all drink a diet coke with my meal. I can't believe I signed up for this but I didn't really have any other choice. I hope you are all doing well, it seems like everyone is learning to adjust to their new lives.

What is everyone eating that is high in protein? The shakes are the easiest way to get all the protein we need but I can't stand the taste anymore. I am forcing turkey chili down now since its 23 grams protein for 1 cup. So tired of eating!

I don't know what state you're in but what about medi-cal or Medicaid? Will they cover the surgery?

It's normal to be scared just remember why you are having the surgery. I was scared before my surgery and kept thinking what if I'm that person that doesn't make it and I leave my child without a parent, I even cried while I was being prepped for surgery. My doctor promised me I'd be fine and he was right.

I don't regret my surgery yet but I am frustrated. Mashed potatoes and refried beans still get stuck in my chest and I always feel hungry. I've been holding back the tears for days but today I couldn't help it and started crying at work in front of my boss! I'm telling myself I just have to wait 2 more weeks till I feel normal again but this process is really slow.

Well today I wake up not wanting to do anything including going to work, it's a good thing I set my own schedule or I'd be late already. I don't know if I feel depressed because I was so disappointed with my first soft foods yesterday or the fact that its my birthday and I can't have any food or drinks that I like and my incisions are irritated and itch so bad, I'm leaving marks on my stomach from scratching so hard. I really wanted to have my surgery before my birthday so I could start my new year with a whole new life, I got my wish but don't feel happy about it now. My surgery was 2 weeks ago today so hopefully things are better next week. Sorry for the whiny post, I don't have anyone to vent to since I'm told this is what I wanted. Yes I wanted the surgery to hopefully not have the rare condition I have anymore since it might be weight related but it doesn't mean this isn't hard.

Newgrandmother - it was nice to see you today too, we can definitely stay in touch! I was disappointed with my doctor visit, he was behind on appointments and seemed rushed. All he said is that I should be walking 30-45 minutes a day and didn't even give me a chance to tell him I was in too much pain. I became instantly depressed while I watched my daughter eat KFC but I don't know why. I had mashed potatoes but it didn't taste good and I felt very heavy after.
