Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Hello all, I'm going to be leaving this site because it depresses me. I'm happy for everyone that is losing weight and feeling good but I am not losing and wish I never had this surgery. It may seem stupid to other people but I obsess and compare myself to others even though I know I shouldn't. I wish you all a happy and skinny new year! Sent from my iPhone using VST

33 BMI and scheduled for VG...

You seem to have your mind made up so I wish you good luck with surgery and recovery. I personally would have never had the surgery at your weight but I haven't been that small since 5th grade. I am very disappointed with this surgery, I am 3 months out and it has been so depressing. I have had two stalls that lasted 4 weeks each, I've also gained weight twice. I risked my life to still be on a yo-yo diet. I know 4 people that had surgery and gained a lot back so they are back to weight watchers, diet pills, etc. If I had the money I would hire a chef to teach me to make good tasting healthy food since it all comes down to eating right. I was told the same thing by my NUT at kaiser, I asked several times and she wouldn't tell me. I set my fitness pal to the calories I want and then use their recommend amount of everything else. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. I was sleeved almost 3 months ago and I'm already gaining weight back. I have gone through 2 stalls that lasted 4 weeks each which makes me very frustrated. The weight should have been falling off of me since I have to lose so much but instead my sleeve seems to be stretched out so I eat way too much. I just want to give up, I guess I was meant to be a blimp the rest of my life. I come on here to learn from others but instead I just get really depressed since everyone is doing so well. 5. No they are still going to make you jump through hoops before they approve you for surgery. You have to go to all 12 classes, turn in your food log every week and try to lose 10% of your body weight. During the 12 weeks they have you go for EKG, evaluation, etc. After all that, you see the doctor one more time and they refer you to the surgeon. I had my surgery in Los Angeles. 6. It depends on which kaiser and surgeon your assigned to but I had my surgery about 6 weeks after finishing the options class. My surgeon had a 3 month wait but I asked to be put on the cancelation list and was called 2 weeks later. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Wow the bariatric vitamins have to be taken 3 times a day, I'd never remember. I have to buy something since I ran out about two weeks ago :-/ Yes I talked to Katie, she said to relax since I'm doing good, that sometimes weight fluctuates and to stop weighing myself so much. Like you said the people that are losing 60-90 pounds in the first 3 months are probably malnourished and can gain the weight back. I explained to her that my weight loss pattern doesn't work for a food addict, I lose for 2 weeks and then stall for 4. I got back on track with food today so hopefully I start seeing some results. Hello all, I know the topic of vitamins have been brought up but my memory sucks. Am I allowed to take a regular multivitamin or do I still need chewables? I'll be 3 months out tomorrow. I am having a hard time finding the ones I liked so I need to get something new, is woman's one a day good? Sent from my iPhone using VST

I feel like such a failure

I gained 7 pounds in 1 week but not sure if it was because I lost a lot the 2 week before. My weight loss has been crazy which doesn't help me at all. The first 3 weeks I lost 19 pounds then I didn't lose anything for 5 weeks, then for 2 weeks I lost 2 or 3 pounds every day. Tomorrow will be 3 months and I have lost 36 pounds which isn't too bad but when I read people my size are losing 60-90 pounds the first 3 months it drives me crazy. Yes, pizza is not a good diet food and I have messed up a lot lately but I will go back to what I know. I use to eat smart ones but my NUT doesn't want me to eat preservatives, this is hard when I can't cook. I never know what to eat anymore, she has me on a 1,000 calorie diet which seems like a lot compared to how much others eat but it's obviously less than I use to eat. I may not have been mentally ready for surgery but didn't have a choice. I was diagnosed with a head condition which doctors don't know what causes it but find its mostly overweight women in childbearing age that get it. The Fluid surrounding my brain doesn't drain down the spine like its suppose to so everyday when the body makes more fluid it puts pressure on my eyes. I was having spinal taps every 3 months and losing my vision on top of taking medicine that made me lose my memory. I have to lose this weight and need to find the strength to fight off all temptations, I just wish I was one of the people that the weight just fell off. Thank you all for the suggestions and support! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I feel like such a failure

The past two weeks I have been eating a few bad things but still trying to get all my Protein in. I have been on so many diets and can't handle the scale not moving, I get really depressed if my efforts aren't getting me anywhere. I average 60 grams of protein a day but my doctor wants me to have 90 grams. I have to just suck it up and drink nasty Protein shakes since I don't eat fish and not big on meat. I gave in to my diet coke addiction so that is probably why my stomach has stretched. Some days I get full quickly but last night had a piece of pizza and didn't feel full :-( Going back to basics today and try to shrink my stomach. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Newgrandmother did your nut say when it would regrowing? I try to get all my protein in but averaging 60 grams a day but I'm suppose to have 90. When I washed my hair about 30 strands came out from the root each time I squeezed the water out. This is so frustrating and I just want to give up on everything. I didn't think I would be yo-yo dieting after having surgery. I have gained 5 pounds this week and its not that time of the month. Ugh! Sent from my iPhone using VST

My hair has been coming out for about a month, I'll be 3 months out on the 13th. It's horrible how much hair comes out when I wash it. Going out tonight and have no idea how I'm going to do my hair so I don't look bald Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. Makemyownluck I'm sorry to hear what you went through, I would have cried too. I don't know what you weigh but I'm sure there is a doctor who will do the surgery. I had to do 12 weeks of classes that I involved a regular calorie counting diet and I didn't lose a damn thing. Every week I was up or down a few pounds. My surgeon didn't care since I tried and he knew I couldn't lose the weight on my own which is why I'm as big as I am. Good luck with the 2nd opinion, ask for a male doctor so you don't have to deal with anymore b*tches! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Welcome k9qt, sorry to hear how rough things were, I hope everything gets better! I will be trying my first drink since surgery on Friday, I can't wait! Omg I bought a sample pack of vitamins from celebrate and I feel like I'm going to vomit. I don't know how you guys chew those chalky vitamins. I've never been one to put things in my mouth unless it tasted good, no wonder I got this big :-/ Sent from my iPhone using VST

  20. I've seen people post about having wine a few months out but I don't drink wine. I use to have 1 Long Island and be really buzzed so I won't drink that but when can I have a mixed drink? I'm 2 1/2 months out. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Ready- feel better! I was sick all week, the doctor said to take robitussin. Green - the majority of your weight loss will be during the first 6 months and then it slows down. I was sleeved 2 1/2 months ago so I only have 4 1/2 months left. I can't believe how much I ate today and none of it was healthy. It was shocking how much my stomach allowed. I'm disappointed in myself but need to start fresh tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Momto I like those chewables since they do kinda taste like a gum ball, the red taste the best. I was told not to take gummies because the vitamins actually come off and stay in the bottle or rub onto other gummies so one day you could get to much vitamins and some days none.
