  1. I had a little wine at 3 weeks. For about 6 months I couldn't drink enough to get a good "buzz" but that has changes now that I'm 13 months out! At 3-4 weeks, I think a few sips is fine, but I'm not a doctor ....
  2. Attorney in Atoka, Tennessee
  3. You gals are awesome!,,, I was sleeved in MX in July last year and am so happy - best decision I ever made! Hang in there, you'll be feeling much better in a week!
  4. You go girl!!!!! I was sleeved in July 2012 (best decision I ever made) in Mexico and wishing you all the best! First couple of days are not fun, but after that it gets better and better
  5. I was low BMI, 5'2" and 190 for a not quite 35 BMI. I'm down to 137 now, July 10 will be my one year surgiversary! Wearing size 4-6
  6. I'm in Tipton county and was sleeved one year ago in Mexico; PM me if you'd like to talk. Loving my sleeve!
  7. I'm one year out and zero regrets - best thing I've ever done for myself!
  8. I gotta be honest, I took phentermine during my pre-op diet, because I have zero self-control!
  9. You go girl! July 10 wi be my 1 year surgiversary, and it was the best thing ive ever done for myself!
  10. I definitely know how you feel. Wait until the day you put on your favorite pajama pants with the elastic waistband and they literally fall off you. Or the day you see your collarbones for the first time since you were a child. Or the day you can cross your legs comfortably. Trust me, when these happen to you (and trust me, they will) you will begin to see yourself skinny in the mirror!
  11. I wonder if there is a way that we, as an online community, can send Gov. Christy a supportive shout-out from all of us? I'm not a techie so I don't know....
  12. My guess is Christie choose band for the same reason most do - it's not permanent. I hope he is wildly successful with it, and if not, I hope he'll look into the sleeve and maybe stumble onto this site and get his questions answered. It would be so helpful to be able to tell people "yeah, I had that surgery that Christie had" and then they'd go " oh yeah, how cool" instead of "you did WHAT?" and "you went to Tijuana to have it done?" I would love to see someone famous touting an actual weight loss SOLUTION, instead of ripping people off selling WW, Atkins, Jenny Craig and the lot. I see those commercials now and I just want to scream "nooooo, save your money and get the sleeve!,,,"
  13. I thought the same thing - why didn't he get the sleeve? I thought about writing him to say good luck, but when you get sick of it look into the sleeve!
  14. I went off my PPI for two weeks (late on calling in a refill) and now I feel a lot of hunger. But no acid problems....
  15. Ok, so I'm soooo over these diet plan commercials! Jenny Craig says they have 5 million satisfied clients, and I'm like, yea maybe 5 million lost weight, but how many kept it off? I just want to run up to every overweight person I see and shout "I found the solution - the permanent solution!" And tell them all about VSG.
  16. Embarrassed to admit this, but I used phentermine during my open-op diet because I knew I'd be miserably hingry
  17. Yes, yes, I have just come off a four month stall. FOUR MONTHS! Now I am losing again. Went down two lbs overnight. No explanation. Can't think of anything I've done differently. Just be patient, your body is fighting to stay the same weight it's always been. It'll come off eventually
  18. Beautiful! Your stats are alot like mine. Good luck with the last few lbs but hey if you maintain as you are now, you're skinny!
  19. Congrats!!! Take care of yourself - my first night after surgery was difficult, but after that went smoothly. Dr Garcia did my sleeve too. Keep us posted!
  20. You all are lucky, dr Garcia is great! I am 7 months out and at goal, scars are very faint. Only issue was severe nausea after surgery, which went away with drugs and a good nights skeep
  21. Sugar-free hard candies will give you gas. If you gotta have it, suck on a real jolly rancher (or whatever). This little bit of sugar won't harm you or your diet. Me, I have 1-2 Reese's miniatures a day. Perfect. Yum.
