  1. Good Luck to you! I don't have a date just yet but it is looking like early March. Hopefully we will be able to support one another! Dee
  2. Keep up the good work! I am excited to for you. You were almost my exact preop wt and I can't weight until I can submit a post like this!
  3. Hey NewGrandmother! I have suffered from depression for a long time. I have been in treatment for it and it has made a huge difference in my life. When you lose wt estrogen is released from your fat cells. I would go and talk to your primary care doc. He can draw blood and check your hormone levels. I also might talk about your symptoms and see if he has any suggestions. I see a social worker myself and it helps a lot. Please don't be afraid to ask for help. You don't have to feel this way! Dee
  4. I don't have a date officially but December is the month I'm shooting for as I have time off from work. Good luck everyone and I pray I am among the Dec Sleevers!
  5. I can't imagine she would deny you on the basis of 7 lbs. It is amazing how difficult everyone has to make things for us isn't it! Good luck Fyre and I'm sure you will be just fine.
  6. Surf? I mean surg. Won't be surfing for awhile...
  7. Wow! I really really need to be sleeved in Dec. gives me some hope things do seem to move fast after that surf appt! Did u need any other diagnostic tests as side from the EKG and blood work? Thanks !
  8. Hi CJ! I have Dr Genaw from HF hospital. I do not have my date yet. I just finished the group consult with the RN (Wanda) and Nut. I have my surgical appt on Nov 21. I am so glad to hear there are ppl near me getting sleeved. Looking forward to learning more about you and celebrating our new lives! Dee
  9. Hello Renagade, I also have a lot to lose. I also feel trapped in my own body and am missing a lot of things that I would wish to be doing in/with my life. I am going to have surgery about the same time as you (I hope). So, If you want a sleeve buddy I am available. Feel free to add me as a friend. I try not to get stuck on the numbers right now. I feel like it would be better for you to set smaller goals. 200 lbs is a good chunk of change. I have met people on this site that have lost 125 lbs or so in 6 months! We can do this Renagade! We will do this because there is too much we are missing now. From all of my reading I have learned that the medical professionals want us to lose the majority of our wt in about 18mths. Totally doable and you will likely lose a lot faster than I will. I'll try not to hold that against you;). In any case, what choice do you have? You can continue on the path you are on or you can try! Put everything you have into this and invest in yourself. You are so worth it. So am I and so are the many, many other friends I have met on this site. We are here for you too so hitch up your britches and live up to your name. You got this man! Dee
  10. Hi Bell, Don't give up! It sounds to me like she is seriously overstepping her position. That is your doctors place, not hers. I am so sorry you had to go through that. Please don't let one nasty person get to you.

Moregan, Isn't it telling that we cannot take a complement at any weight! It's as though we cannot be comfortable in our skin period. I think that your fiance was very sweet last night. Take him at his word and trust that he is being honest with you. And, for all of us dealing with weight issues, please don't hate that girl that was once you. That person was just as worthy of his love as you are at your new weight. She is, and was, you! I am preop and it hurts me to see so many people talk badly about "that person" they were before weight loss. I hope that I can still embrace that women because she was brave. She was willing to sign up for this surgery even though it was scary. When she leaves the house she does so with her head high, even if there is pointing or snickers. When you feel unsure of yourself get in touch with that women because she has learned to look for other ways of coping. Some of them were not good (food) but she didn't quit! Good luck to you!
  12. I am also from Mi. I wait for my date and also hope for Dec. go Tigers;)
  13. Shall we be PC for fyre? I'll give it a shot... This logo serves great purpose and therefore should be drafted mindfully. It is important that it depict all members of VST and therefore I suggest a hologram. Dancing statuesque pre op member one moment and a lean mean post op sleever the next! Dance holographic logo dance! In celebration of all members! Let the rubinesque leap and rejoice as they journey toward the true hidden beauty residing in all sleevers! Then rest and become energized again with a Protein supplement of your choice. Only to dance again, finally replete. I may have gotten carried away.....
  14. I'm offended that I didn't think about being offended about such offensive matters!

  16. Thank you do much for sharing! You know when I first started researching wls I was heading toward the band. Thank god I found this site! I resently went to me wls class and was surprised that they seemed to really downplay the risks. They also seemed to push for pts with more than 100 lbs to lose to get RNY. Scary to me and not an option. If I just went on their advise though I would have done it! Thank you for sharing. It makes a difference. I'm so glad you are doing better!
  17. Lindsay, hope you are doing well now. It is horrible how much you are getting tossed around by the doctors! Praying for you and sending healing thoughts and energy! Stay strong. Dee
  18. Hi Nancers I am starting too. I passed my Psych Eval and go to my seminar tomorrow morning. I am so excited! I can't wait to get a move on already. Like Tracy I am hoping to be sleeved in December. Dee
  19. Wow. Christina is curvy and gorgeous if you ask me. I can't wait to see Pitch Perfect. I would love to see a plus sized women in a movie that wasn't A. The funny friend of beautiful leading lady B. Someone to make fun of C. Ball Buster tough chick (I don't mind that all the time though;) This is real life folks. How many size 2's are there out there? I certainly seem to be missing them where I am....
  20. Hi Fellow Michiganders! I am also from the Sterling Hts area. Would love to be part of a group.
  21. Oh do I hear you Racoon! I am out of breath. Tired and grumpy. Clothes that I can find that are comfortable are ugly as sin. I put the shoulder strap of the seat belt behind me so I don't strangle to death. I will NOT buy an extender!!! So I just live with it. Sometimes I forget it is behind me and get out of the car all wrapped up in the belt. I'm sure I look like a lunatic! Can't wait to have a normal life, normal clothes and normal seat belt wearing!
  22. Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and an easy recovery! I hope to join you in a few months.
  23. That is great! Kids are so honest. You took it great too, not being offended. I am preop and can't wait for this to happen to me. I do have a funny "complement" that my niece shared with me. She went into a gas station and the clerk looked at her and said, "you have some beautiful big calves!" What do you say to that?! lol

Juny, I'm preop too. I feel so out of control right now as I wait, and wait, and wait.... I could have totally eaten that batch of brownies! I think it is stress and worry that makes me do this. I'm sure it is very normal. I have not started my preop diet yet. Have you? Dee:)
