    So embarrassed!

Good for you Lisa! Can you imagine if this happened while driving? I'm glad you jumped on this so fast and saw your doc.

    Week 3

Chap, I agree, maybe this coworker is just trying to keep up the relationship that you once had. Relating to you the only way he knows how, with food. If you enjoy his company could could go out and have soup or something like that. Good luck to you!

    1 month out

I was feeling the same. I'm a little over a month out. I read a book about gastric sleeve and adjusted my meals. I agree with determined. When I was feeling sick after eating it generally was because I ate too much. Plus, I let some carbs creep in. The book said to concentrate on protein and produce so that is what I do (of course I know about protein but I was still trying to have a meal and I just don't have room so now I limit it to my protein and if there is room, produce). My meals are not exciting but I haven't felts sick lately. I might have a hard boiled egg for lunch and that feels good in my sleeve. Now I try to keep my meals about that size and I've had not more trouble. I think we just need time to feel things out. Try to keep your meals smaller and you might feel better too. Good luck! I know it is horrible to feel that way! One other trick, My nut said that it helps to have pineapple tidbits with protein. The acid helps break it down. It does seem to work!

    Stumped

I'm losing wt still but I'm the same! I just do not urinate near as much as I used to... I'm a bit over one month out

So frustrating. Gaining? On week 3

I'm a month out and I had the same thing happen to me for a week. I think we just shocked the hell out of our system and it is trying really hard to keep things as they were. Not gonna happen! Don't worry, it will come off. I am now drinking drinking drinking btwn meals and I only "eat" three times a day. If I'm hungry before bed I'll have a fudge sickle or a Greek yogurt but I try to eat nothing but "protein and produce" at my meals. I read that in a book. I think I was eating too much (still not much) but not drinking enough. This has really helped me and the scales moving again. I know I should not be so obsessed with the scale but I cannot seem to help it! It's like heroine! It calls to me. Good luck you will do just fine!

Dude, don't do it! They will send Jillian after your ass and you will be in big trouble!

Made my hubby do all the work and it was about 9-10 days out;). Plus he had to stay up on his knees (where I like him anyway ha ha ha Of course you should follow your docs advice.....

    What to tell work people

I hope you were clear about your feelings with your fiancee because I didn't think I needed to tell my hubby that I would rather his whole damn work knew but he told them anyway! I was less than pleased....

    Im sleeved!

Four days guys. Give it four days and you will feel so much better!
  13. Delena2/11

    And so it begins (newbie)

If you need your pcp as a referral you wont be able to do the psych etc first. they will want approval. If you don't need a referral I would say go for it and get that ball rolling. I was sleeved Feb 11 and I started that process (no diet needed) in October. Good luck! Delena

    Tomorrow is the day!

Compass, that is just how I felt! Even sitting on the stretcher waiting to go back. It was a peaceful and easy decision and I never waffled. That is amazing for me as I am sooo indecisive about a lot of things. Best of luck to you tomorrow! If you have a family member that can stay at least over night with you take advantage of it. It was so hard to get up to walk or go to the bathroom! Can't wait to hear about your successful journey! Delena

    Feeling More Hopeful!

Good for you Star! I would also keep practicing not drinking with meals. I wish I took that a little more seriously because I'm finding it really hard. Not that I have much solid food yet at about 2 weeks out but still. I find myself constantly having to be reminded before grabbing a drink. Best of luck to you!

    Why cant i eat anymore

I'm only about 13 days out and haven't had much that is "food". I am finding that it is hard to gauge what I can finish. I had cottage cheese and it was really difficult to choke down. Maybe just because I am new?
  17. Best of luck tomorrow Mac! See you on the losers bench! I'm 13 days out have have lost about 15 lbs! 41.6 total and feel great. It is soo worth it.

Finding out what people really think...

I've been honest when people ask about my surgery so far but it is uncomfortable. Just trying to come up with a good way to explain it to a lay person. Most everyone has been very supportive though. I will continue to tell people because when I start to really look as though I've lost a lot of weight I will have to say something and I am a horrible liar. One way or the other it seems to be an uncomfortable moment either way...
  19. This is a hard one! I am now 12 days post op. I feel great and am ready to take on the world in a lot of ways. I am still a tiny bit tender but feel so much better already. If I knew you would feel this way too I would say, go for it! However, no one knows how this surgery will be for them and so you have to do what is right for you. If it was me I would do it in April. But that is me. I could not wait to get on with the rest of my life. Best of luck whatever you decide to do!

    Stomach pain!?

Hi had one hernia repaired and I had the same pain it sounds like. Getting up was terrible! I am now 11 days out and feel great. Just a twinge here and there. Best of luck to you~!

    Fears?

Brandy, Maybe giving them some information would help them understand? Even seeing some YouTube videos. They are just worried for you. I was really afraid my family would react the same way but they have been just great. Those that have not been as supportive have just been uninformed or they just are not really going to be their for me. Maybe you can take them to an informational seminar with you? You look very young. I have not looked at your profile. I have struggled with wt all my life and am 40. I just don't see how I could have done it on my own, ever. If we had centuries to figure things out that would be one thing. It would be great to be able to to it ourselves but the scientific data does not support that either. IMO if you have not been successful controlling your wt you should consider this option. You are NOT being selfish you are investing in yourself. You are making sure you will be there for those precious children. Best of luck to you!
  22. Oh when I started reading your post I was so excited for you! I'm so so sorry that this happened to you. What a thoughtful person to use that nifty red purse to toss your Japanese cookies into! Well, better luck next time! I hope to learn from your experience. I'm only 10 days out so I don't have much experience yet but I don't want to learn the hard way!

    Pre-op diet

Hello there, Congrats on your surgery date! Check out www.myfitnesspal.com. It really helped me. I would follow that and then maybe do a Fluid preop diet one week before if they didn't outline a program for you. It helped me prepare for my postop diet. I would have Protein supplements, clear fluids, broth, sugar free Popsicles and Jello. That was it! Helps get your mind in the game! Good luck!

    Post-op questions

Hello there. I'm only 8 days out and I have lost about 6 lbs since surgery.
  25. Delena2/11

Just startung and have questions already!

Hello There! I was sleeved on the same day as you so I cannot really give you words of wisdom. There are as many good stories as there are bad ones. I haven't had much trouble either but they have me on liquids until the 27th when I see my surgeon again. Delena:)
